clearly their focus is the US not the UK

they had to wait for the Panini video until Road was no longer #1 in the US

Panini is great, but that's to be expected with such a heavy In Bloom influence! Was massively sceptical about Old Town Road because I've had my fill of young rappers called Lil but that grew on me massively too.

Panini wasn't actually written with the intention of sampling In Bloom :P

He wrote it without ever hearing the song, but it sounds so much like it they had to pay for the sample.

Yeah, I read that it was unintentional. To be fair, a lot of great choruses I hear are probably a tad derivative!
A lot of the time it's a case of "haven't I heard this hook before? Oh well, banger!".

Good for him, pretty set in stone he’s not a one hit wonder now (for the US at least)

Was great to see this re-enter the UK Top 40 again and outpeak its original position of #25. Now got a new peak of #23.

As no one posted this yet x

A solid guest verse from DaBaby, obviously not near the event that the 'Old Town Road' remix was but it's done the job to push it up the charts (just like 'Truth Hurts' lol). Well deserved top 5 peak.

So er... this is nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys  Happy for him I guess but that seems like a really out of place nomination. It's not even an album!

(he has a few other nominations too, including Record of the Year for 'Old Town Road')

these year's Grammys are worst than the MTV awards with all these joke nominations, Lil Nas X has nothing to do in the album of the year category, same for You Need to Calm Down or 7 Rings in singles, a joke...
Bit of a weird choice but I'm still really happy for him, it's a decent enough EP

just realised I was expecting IGOR to walk the Grammys :/

Lil Nas X, give him all those MTV awards but not a Grammy
