June 3, 20196 yr Would have been nice to see Katy debut top 10, but I'm sure she'll climb in next week. Her Uk Spotify support didn't start out as strong as everywhere else so it's not a huge surprise it's off to a slower start on Spotify here than everywhere else. It's higher only in the US, Canada, Australia and Brazil (and some small markets such as Taiwan but they are not really that significant) Edited June 3, 20196 yr by SKOB
June 3, 20196 yr It will be interesting to see if Avicii or Jonas Brothers will get to #1 (if either of them do).
June 3, 20196 yr I can't see either getting close to #1. Lewis will easily get another week before Bruce Springsteen kicks him off.
June 3, 20196 yr Yeah, I don’t see Avicii nor Jonas Brothers challenging for #1. Pleased to see Skepta doing well this week, particularly “Bullet From a Gun” getting at least a week in the T40 like it deserves. Can see the J Hus collaboration being a long runner once radio pick it up.
June 3, 20196 yr Hope Skepta's album will climb to #2 by the end of the week - Lewis actually not as far ahead as I thought he'd be but will still be a comfortable third week obvz. Hopefully Chase And Status can stay top 20 too. 'Grace' hanging around in the 20s for months, then shooting up to the top 10, then (potentially) dropping off the chart entirely 2 weeks later  poor Lewis having 4 genuinely popular songs at the same time, although I guess it's good that 'Bruises' might still end up with a more representative peak position (and it's another decent song from him).
June 3, 20196 yr Earlier tonight I was going through 1997 charts and found this 15 track release was a #87 single, presumably because its price was so low  It still shouldn't have been but I suppose nobody was paying enough attention outside the Top 75. Frank Zappa made the Top 100 singles with a sampler album as well.
June 3, 20196 yr Oooh have Doves re-released their albums this week then? I loved 'The Last Broadcast' actually, it was a good album. Solid bit of 00s indie.
June 3, 20196 yr Oooh have Doves re-released their albums this week then? I loved 'The Last Broadcast' actually, it was a good album. Solid bit of 00s indie. There Goes The Fear is still brilliant!
June 3, 20196 yr Oooh have Doves re-released their albums this week then? I loved 'The Last Broadcast' actually, it was a good album. Solid bit of 00s indie. Yep, on coloured vinyl. Although I've heard less-than-positive things about the pressing quality.
June 4, 20196 yr There Goes The Fear is still brilliant! I have to concur there, fully deserving of its top 3 placing it achieved. 'Pounding' was a wicked song too.
June 4, 20196 yr There goes the Fear was amazing, it was a limited release, right? or am I confusing it with another song? was it a 3-out?
June 4, 20196 yr How did it manage 3 weeks if it was only available for 1 day and sold out? There must have been leftover copies floating around in shops. I guess it only got as high as No.3 because of the novelty of it being deleted after the first week on sale, but it's not like every single copy issued across the entire country would have gone in the first week, hence the extra two weeks. It's a good song but I always preferred Pounding, which is a really great track, and actually felt like a bigger hit somehow, maybe because it was on Now 52! I certainly remember seeing it on TV more.
June 4, 20196 yr I’m not a fan of Cheryl but it seems a new tread for older artists to struggle making the top 40 these days. As a Kylie fan it is so frustrating seeing her struggling making the charts. The charts are so boring now with a lack of new songs and the top 10 the same for weeks. I think streaming needs to be changed in how it’s calculated for the charts. I suppose many Jave had debates about this but I suspect the record companies and big streaming platforms have a big say on what songs are playlist. How can someone playing a playlist on repeat count towards a sale. Don’t get me started on you tube.
