June 4, 20196 yr Really pleasantly surprised by Never Really Over - my fave from Katy in years. Hopefully it makes the top 10 this week!
June 4, 20196 yr but it was not 1 week, (I think) it was deleted after 1 day That's true, I think you're right. But still, there must have been copies lingering around in various places for weeks after. Could even be stock left in the backroom that the stores didn't realise they had and subsequently put out on display.
June 4, 20196 yr Susan Boyle not getting the sales boost from the BGT performance i thought she may have got. Number 4 is likely where she will stay based on the sales we have to date for the week. I cant see Katy Perry making the Top 10 this week but may do so in the coming weeks.
June 4, 20196 yr For your information the top 10 singles are still non movers  I really want this to happen, Katy Perry can wait until next week please :drama: Correction: Top 11 :D
June 4, 20196 yr It would be the top 13 if not for Katy Perry too!! I know lol, I was just checking how close those sales are, is it possible a top 15 of non movers by the end of the week

Could even be stock left in the backroom that the stores didn't realise they had and subsequently put out on display. They did something similar with Idlewild 'You Held The World In Your Arms' which came out at the same time as I recall. That only made #9 though and was around for even less time!
June 4, 20196 yr Cheryl out of top 40 already she gonna be lucky to stay top 75 at this speed shame its actually not a bad effort from her
June 4, 20196 yr Very strange for there to be no movers like not even #8 & #9 switching for example. Sales must be quite spaced out.
June 4, 20196 yr They did something similar with Idlewild 'You Held The World In Your Arms' which came out at the same time as I recall. That only made #9 though and was around for even less time! That's a fantastic song as well!
June 4, 20196 yr but it was not 1 week, (I think) it was deleted after 1 day Deleting after one day really just meant shops couldn't reorder any more copies though. In fact, I remember 'Long Distance' by Turin Brakes was officially deleted on the day of release but they had copies of it in my local branch of HMV that opened the week after.
June 4, 20196 yr “Raving I'm Raving” was deleted before the end of its first week on sale and yet managed to make #15 in its second week. I think “The Masses Against the Classes” by The Manic Street Preachers also was deleted on day 1 and spent a couple of additional weeks in the Top 40 (including one in the Top 10). It was a marketing gimmick essentially.

June 4, 20196 yr Hard to imagine in the streaming era, but one reason for announcing you were going to delete a single was to make sure shops would order more copies while they could so they wouldn't run out.
