Birthday was cute as an album track, but I don’t think it was screaming out as single material... Prism had better choices!

365 so low :( Would agree that it’s probably suffered from recent flop-itis (lol)

Con Calma Remix is cool! I think Katy’s contribution makes it more interesting.

I'll do one more result tonight or tomorrow morning before I go on holiday and then Troublepink or Rob are going to do a couple of results while I'm on holiday.

In the meantime, any guesses what these are, before we get to the top 20:

#21 7.16

#22 7.15

#23 6.97

I imagine 'Part of Me' would be one of them. If 'Wide Awake' and 'Unconditionally' could join it, that would be fab.

I know it's been said before but how Maroon 5 managed to rip off both the melody and music video of Birthday and have an enormous hit with Sugar is so frustrating! Doesn't make it a good song though

I love 'Birthday' but I do resent it being picked as a single over 'Walking On Air' :(

I would've gone;

01 Roar

02 Dark Horse

03 Walking On Air

04 This Is How We Do

05 Unconditionally

I really like Birthday and think it's a fab single choice! I'm not as keen on This Is How We Do as y'all though, so I'd have switched that out for Walking On Air for the perfect Prism campaign.

Con Calma is heaps of fun and deserves to be a bit higher but it's not too upsetting, considering it's not really Katy's song. 365 is good but I can't see myself revisiting it too much in the future. Solid song with little replayability for me!

Birthday and This Is How We Do are both really strong post-album singles imo! Both straight up fun pop and aren't trying to be anymore than that! Birthday is kinda dreamy too and the Cash Cash remix is top notch. I'd hope Part of Me and Swish Swish will appear in the next section.

This is How We Do suffered from being the 5 single, especially coming after Birthday which underperformed with a slightly bigger push. I think if it were single 2 or 3 or even 4 it would have been much bigger.

As much as i stan it, I always have a feeling Walking on Air would have massively flopped as a single, being one of those for the gays songs. Legendary Lovers would have pleased the GP a bit more.

Anyway, let me throw out one more song.

23. Part of Me - 6.97

11 ~ Troublepink 10 ~ Andrew, JosephAvery

-1 ~ Jade, 3 ~ ...ready for it

US peak: #1

UK peak: #1

Of all Katy's number 1s, this is the one I forget the most, and like 'Birthday', it's a bit of a lazy-Katy-on-autodrive chorus, without some of the charm of the others. Though I don't go back to it a huge amount, when I do I'm reminded that there is quite a nice amount of emotion and empowerment in the vocal which I appreciate and think this is the main selling point of the song. Plus, this one goes off big time when she does it on tour.

Damn I forgot to do this, now “Teenage Dream” is guaranteed to win

“Birthday” is the biggest and only real loss so far, I absolutely love it, it’s so fun (I think the performance during her tour really highlighted this).

Can “Bon Appetit” be in the next couple to be eliminated please

I really liked 'Part of Me' at the time but, looking back, it felt like the first slip in what had been a pretty flawless run to that point: all the singles from the Teenage Dream felt so big, like they all had their own little perfect packages of sound, video and performance, and 'Part of Me', as you say Joe, just felt a bit Katy-by-numbers but lacking in charm. It's not a bad song by any means and she's certainly had bigger slips, but it just feels a tad underwhelming after such a strong selection of singles. I guess that run couldn't have been held up forever but the record company were probably being a bit greedy by milking the era.
'Birthday' and 'Part Of Me' are ridiculously basic. The former really should not have been a single. The video was cute though. 'Part Of Me' is def worse though. It's so uninteresting and really forgettable.

I'll never quite get how 'Legendary Lovers' is considered as single material.

'Part of Me' deservedly placing low.

Probably in the minority here but 'Part of Me' is one of my favourites from Katy. Although rarely hear this now.
