It's so hard to compare songs I'm hearing for the first time with classics I've loved for years but there we go!

 

'Like A Prayer', 'La Isla Bonita' + 'Into The Groove' are my top 3 :wub:

 

Excited to make my way through the 90s as 'Frozen' is my favourite Madge song!

Considering it's the first time you've heard many of those songs, I'd say that's a fairly positive rate! Always interesting to see which songs appeal to first time listeners. Which songs that you hadn't heard before did you really take to?

Great rate! The 80s are fairly standard pop throughout so I'm glad there was consistent enjoyment. 90s will have incredible moments (such as your fave Frozen and its entire parent album) but also some moments in other albums that may divide your opinion.

Yes I definitely enjoyed that trip into her 80s stuff, largely helped by it being synth central :lol: *.* I think my favourite discovery was ‘Live To Tell’ - a song title that I’ve been familiar with for years, but I’d somehow avoided ever hearing it.

Looking back at my 80s rate, I feel like I was a tad over generous with some songs! Bearing in mind that I was listening to & rating her 80s music without having experienced the vast majority of the 90s, 00s and 10s Madonna music.

 

These two scores stand out to me particularly:

 

08.0 Who's That Girl

09.0 Causing a Commotion

 

If I was doing this now I think I'd reduce them to a 7 and an 8 respectively I think. Obviously not a drastic reduction lol but yeah. I do still think that Causing a Commotion is a very fun song, but in the scheme of things I definitely wouldn't consider it as a 9 in her career any more.

 

(Not asking for edits to be done though, I'll stand by these scores as being how I felt on the day I rated!)
