If I Were a Boy and Singles Ladies + XO and Drunk in Love were joint leads apparently!

For me:

01. XO

02. Déjà Vu

03. If I Were a Boy

04. Crazy in Love

05. Drunk in Love

06. Run the World (Girls)

07. Formation

08. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)

Oh wow I didn't realise how hit-and-miss her leads were! I like the top 4 and dislike the bottom 4  but the best is 'Drunk In Love' which is my favourite song of hers overall

01. Drunk In Love

02. Crazy In Love

03. Formation

04. Déjà Vu

05. XO

06. Run The World (Girls)

07. If I Were A Boy

08. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)

Crazy In Love and XO were great, Drunk In Love and If I Were A Boy were good, I'm not a fan of the other four at all.

Crazy In Love for me. It officially kicked off her solo career in style (forgetting the dissapointing and bland Work It Out) and is still an anthem today.

1. Crazy In Love

2. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

3. If I Were A Boy

4. Deja Vu

5. XO

6. Drunk In Love

7. Run The World (Girls)

8. Formation

Crazy In Love is quite clearly the best/my favourite but the others are more difficult to order. It's probably something like:

1. Crazy In Love

2. Drunk In Love

3. Formation

4. Déjà Vu

5. Run the World (Girls)

6. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)

7. XO

8. If I Were a Boy

But it gets a lot closer from 4 downwards! Deja Vu is a huge recent fave that's gone up a lot in my estimations

1. XO [always liked this one]

2. If I Were A Boy

3. Deja Vu

4. Drunk In Love

5. Crazy In Love

And these are all varying shades of garbage:

6. Single Ladies

7. Formation

8. Run The World

01. XO

02. Crazy in Love

03. If I Were a Boy

04. Drunk in Love

05. Déjà Vu

06. Formation

07. Run the World (Girls)

08. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)

01 If I Were A Boy

02 XO

03 Formation

04 Deja Vu

05 Crazy In Love

06 Drunk In Love

07 Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

08 Run The World

RTW is still great but this is a fab selection so it was hard to choose!

XO for me

1. XO

2. Drunk in Love

3. If I Were a Boy

4. Crazy in Love

5. Run the World (Girls)

6. Déjà Vu

7. Formation

8. Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)

also glad to see a lack love for single ladies. always thought it was rubbish but thought everyone else liked it

1. Drunk in Love

2. Singles Ladies (Put a Ring on It)

3. If I Were a Boy

4. Déjà Vu

5. Crazy in Love

6. Formation

7. XO

8. Run the World (Girls)

1. Run The World (Girls)

2. Formation

3. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

4. Drunk In Love

Those are the clear top half for me. I'd then put 'XO' #5, and the other 3 could go in any order.

Edit: omg I'm the only one to vote any of my top 3

Crazy In Love isn’t her best song, no, but it’s that anthem that completely launched her into stardom and no one can say they don’t know it. Formation is an overall great song from a great album albeit again not my favourite from Lemonade (Freedom & All Night ). Tbh her lead singles as a whole generally aren’t her strongest singles from her album campaigns with the odd exception. Single Ladies & Run The World aren’t songs I willingly go back to outside of listening to the albums and I can kind of say the same for XO but less so.

IIWAB is such a well-crafted pop song and one of the best that deals with feminist subjects imo. It was also a change in release strategy for Bey to launch an album (in the UK at least) with a ballad. That XF performance! *.* Single Ladies complements 'Boy' well, acting as its sassy counterpart lol. CIL isn't a joy to listen to anymore because of severe overexposure but I can appreciate that it was a flawless way to launch her solo career. Deja Vu is often viewed as a more-diluted, weaker version of 'Crazy' but its forgotten status has done it favours in my mind at least. When she goes OFF with "YOUR SEXINESS IS SO APPEAALLINGGG I CAN'T LET IT GO OOOOOOOHHHEEERR" I feel it :deadbanana:

The other 4 leads shouldn't have led their albums imo (besides maybe Formation but I'm not a lover of Lemonade lol). I guess DIL was promoted as single last minute due to its success but how XO could've been chosen to lead such a strong album I'll never know. Blow should have been first single! As for RTW  I get that the hook is iconic now but it could've been third single perhaps... The album wasn't really packing a clear hit but I'd say Party was a moment. Especially with Andre 3000's rap.
