The #100 has been shifting 5.7k units recently and I don't think the #1 on sales has managed as low as that yet.

'Senorita', the sales #1 last week, sold 8.7k which would have placed it outside the Top 50 if it had no streaming.

i've been out of the loop of the charts for a few years now since streaming took over.. but like what sort of impact does an iTunes no.1 even have now? will it even dent the charts if theres no streaming to back it up? just wondering..

This week the number one song on pure sales was Senorita with 8,662 copies, only counting that it would have been between 51-55...

A fleeting #1 on iTunes could easily miss the Top 100 though - Nick Knowles 'Make You Feel My Love' and Tom Odell's 'Piano Man' both spent a day atop the iTunes charts but missed the official chart.
Got LadBaby to #1 officially!

Well it depends how many the #1 on iTunes sells doesn't it?

It's fair to say the #1 on iTunes most weeks doesn't sell 70,000.

Obviously it's a big exception, but it shows iTunes isn't completely dead in helping the charts.

It is. Why do people cling on to these things? When you see people posting iTunes positions like Dido at 100, why even bother.

Why bother with life... we're all just going to die anyway

posting about Dido is always worth it <3

Probably because some of us are more interested in low charting artists. I only asked about Dido because aside from the lead single, she hasn’t been that high on iTunes with anything, regardless of really low sales, so I just wondered if she’d done some promo or something. I don’t really care about the top of the charts these days as none of it interests me, but I do care about Dido.

I guess I apologise for being passionate about something you deem unimportant, although I don’t really see why you’d be bothered.

This is the iTunes topic. It's what it's for.
