Has anything Boris has tried to do since becoming PM actually worked? I’m trying to figure out why his supporters are still so confident he’ll be able to deliver Brexit.

Because they're thick as shit.

As much as I'm pleased by the decision (and to be honest didn't see it coming) I agree with Mald in that it will only serve to strengthen Boris's popularity! He'll be seen as being 'bullied' (poor twat).

Anyone who was involved in lying to the queen and country should resign immediately. They would if they had any honour. Reece Smogg and Bojo included. They don't have an ounce of honour to spare however.
Excellent news ofc. justice fair and simple, I just hope it leads to a sense of finality of No Deal being off the table and/or extension and getting the oaf out of Downing Street through a no-confidence vote/general election, sadly, I sense it's a little longer we'll have to wait.

This.

Amazing people think no deal is democratic when it is the most anti democratic option there is, with hard deal little better

Yes am reading on Twitter exactly that. He's being "bullied" and "unfairly overruled by people just wanting to stop Brexit" Think it just makes him more likely to win the election if one comes soon.

Lmao wrooong.

He went against the law and the law won. He tried to be a dictator. He prorogued parliament, promising queen, courts and country that it was "nothing to do with Brexshit gyer huurr Eton gyerr hurr born to rule hurrr!" massive LIE. IT WAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH BREXSHIT LIKE WE SAID!!! He does not just get to be a dictator. Sorry.

I think that Boris off the hook. The Attorney-General said he advised the PM that proroguation would be legal. So he was only taking his advice. If anyone should resign it should be Geoffrey Cox.

He gets to be PM for 5 more years if he wins the election though.

WRONG. Mad May alreasy did that with Amber Rudd. No more. The buck stops with Bojo and his posh boy messenger Smogg. They both need to resign IMMEDIATELY.

THEY. LIED. TO. THE. QUEEN.

What wiuld your beloved press, which you would then parrot here, say if Corbyn lied to the queen eh?

Queen cannot trust them. They need to resign immediately.

They took legal advice from the top legal expert, the Attorney General. He said it was lawful.

I have clearly underestimated your density if you really think Boris is completely innocent here.

Buck stops with Bojo. The only advice he took was from unelected beaurocrat Cummings. He says he wants to break the law or get around it r.e extension. He obviously doesn't give a shit if something is lawful or not.

HE. NEEDS. TO. RESIGN.

Let's be honest someone is getting fired/resigning here. It won't be Boris.. yet. My favourite part about this is Boris said closing down Parliment was not about Brexit, then he contradicts himself that it is about Brexit!

It's clearly obvious the role Boris and Cummings are going for is the will of the people vs the terrible people trying to stop Brexit. They are trying to unify the leave vote off the Brexit Party, which could give them a majority in a General Election, although I think a lot of that would largely depend on if the Remain parties can unify a pact together as Labour seem to be neither here nor there which I don't think is what they need coming in to a General Election.

I do think Boris has made a massive error of judgement though and while someone will take the fall for it, I'd also say there are probably lots of his own MPs who are annoyed at him. I think it will make it doubly difficult to get No Deal through now though.

A normal pm, not a corrupt born to rule wannabe dictstor Trump wananbe, would have resigned over this.

Labour is neutral. Its positions is veeery, veeewry, veeery clear, no matter what the narrative of the BBTory is.

1. Negotiate a soft brexshit deal

2. Put that deal to the people v remain

3. Labour will be neutral

Simple.

Sky News saying that the PM has spoken to The Queen this evening but no word on what was said. Johnson will address the Commons tomorrow. He's due to fly back to London overnight.

I finally got round to reading the full judgment just now...very powerful and well reasoned and very much avoids crossing the line of entering into the political sphere (contrary to what the likes of the Rees-Moggs etc. are trying to spin this as). In fact, they explicitly make clear this is a decision purely on the established legal principles in our constitution by immediately ruling out motive as relevant to this decision.

A lot of people say we need a written constitution, but on the contrary this judgment demonstrates it's fully functioning and can cope with even these extraordinary scenarios where the Executive might try to abuse its powers.

I just dread to see how the rags will slander our judiciary on the front pages tomorrow morning :/

That's complete rubbish Michael. Their strategy for what they do is clear but this general election is going to be Leave vs Remain whether we like it or not.

Not choosing which side to offically campaign for is going to hampen them.

And should then start packing his bags.
