The former Tory MPs are also saying they won't back a Corbyn-led government which means the Lib Dems' stance doesn't really matter. The fact that talks are taking place, however, suggests that all sides think a compromise can be reached.

There is a lot to be said for an interim PM being somebody who has no long-term ambitions. Realistically, that is likely to be someone whose Prime Ministerial ambitions are behind them - hence the mention of names such as Ken Clarke, Harriet Harman and Margaret Beckett. There is no requirement for the PM to be a party leader; Churchill was PM for a few months before he became Tory leader.

Yellow Tories.

We need the purged Tory mps to support him - although we don't need that many. They have been purged and won't win their seats. They may as well support him.

Home Secretary Priti Patel, addressing the Tory Conference in Manchester has blamed "Corbyn and other MP's for frustrating Brexit and not getting Democracy and the will of the people through"
Traitor Patel has gall to be charging anybody with anything.

I like her. She gave a good speech and said her inspiration and person who influenced her to join the party was Margaret Thatcher. Future PM herself maybe?

Speaking of Pattel, after promising to get tough on crime, again, eton disco citizens establishment toff treasurer of the 1922 old guard, is being held by police after a massive entitled meltdown against security at the Darth Empire convention! When's Bojo's time, Pattel? You promised to be tough on crime. We assume you didn't just mean for poor people?

The treasurer of the 1922 committee, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, has been held by police after an incident in the International Lounge at the Tory party conference. Just hours before Priti Patel announced plans to get tough on crime. Now to get Boris...

She's a liar and corrupt to the bone.

Oh, what a surprise!

If we end up with No Deal because the Lib Dems couldn't accept having JC as caretaker PM then they're not getting my vote again. -_-

In the unlikely event that the ex-Tories decide to back Corbyn, I think the Lib Dems would probably do so as well.

Surely there is an argument that, if these are the terms to avoid No Deal, Corbyn should consider it?

No Deal can't happen or so I keep being told. The MP's say so and The Queen will sack Boris if he doesn't send the letter.

Well at least Boris and Co are still trying to get a deal in time.

No they're not! And I'm not going to waste any more syllables on your posts at this time!

Afternoon Kath. Nice too see you here. :)

Well according to tomorrow's Times newspaper Boris will openly ask the EU to not grant an extension to A50 even if he asks for one. So he'll send the letter as he's compelled to do but wants them to then refuse an extension so we fall out on 31st with no deal. :o

No matter what you think of him folks, he's determined to get us out isn't he? You've got to admire his tenacity.

Why should I admire someone determined to go ahead with something that his own government’s documents say will cause serious damage to the economy? That is reckless, not brave.
Didn't they already unofficially decide to agree to an extension at the recent summit? Am sure they did so this by Boris and Cummings won't work. He must run out of options soon.

So you tell me then Suedy. Why does he want No Deal so much? Well maybe he'd prefer a deal but why is he prepared to take us out without one on 31st if he possibly can?
