Welcome to a new series of polls coming to the Madonna forum! Many Madonna songs share titles with songs from other artists (either a coincidence or because of her impact). So it's time to put these various namesakes against each other.

Simply vote for your favourite of the two songs and if you haven't heard - listen below! It should be a great way to discover new music if you haven't heard the songs already :D

Ooh this is a good idea *.* this may surprise some but I've actually picked Madonna over Ari! 'Borderline' is a classic Madge track that I love to listen to, I like Ariana's one too but I wouldn't say that it's a major 'Sweetener' highlight for me, more like middle of the pack. I expected something a little more from a Missy featuring track!

I absolutely love Ariana's 'borderline' and it's my favourite album track on 'Sweetener'... but Madonna's song is one of my favourite singles from her overall and just not comparable here. It's one of her best 80s songs and STILL stands the test of time some 30 years later! Love for both though
This tweet was posted during the wrap up of the Sweetener album. Did we ever find out the context? Was it Ariana thanking Madonna for inspiring her track of the same name? :o

It was for 'God is a woman' wasn't it? When Madonna did that spoken part in the video?

I love Ariana, but this isn’t even a contest really is it haha.

Madonna all the way, her ‘borderline’ is such a classic

Oh yes! How did I forget that?

I remember learning that Madonna and Ariana had worked together and I joked that it would probably just be a sample or a spoken interlude! I'd be interested in what a collab between the two would sound like.

I like Ariana's upon re-listen, sounds like one of the better Sweetener tracks from what I remember of the album, but has to be Madonna's for me too. I love the melody - it feels so familiar and sentimental. A simple, sweet song but carries a lot of emotional value.

I find myself falling more and more for this performance of it on the Jimmy Fallon Show:

Madonna is so connected with the song and it's refreshing to see her strip it all back like this.

One of my favourites from Madonna in the 80s so it has to be her Madgesty! I do think Borderline is one of Ariana's better tracks though so I've got love for that too
