Brilliant start for the Conservatives here, they elected a candidate one day and he resigned soon afterwards over words uttered 5 years ago...

Broadland constituency in Norfolk by the way.

Oh, that dude who said rape victims should keep their knickers on right?

It's really funny how these monstrous Tory folk insist they "messed up" or something whenever it emerges they've said these things in the past, but they really didn't. It's actually an accurate snapshot into their mindset, and it's also illustrative of the party's core values.

Like that other candidate who said benefit claimants need to be "put down". You hear that Chris?

Edited by Tawdry Hepburn

A truly shining example I think of the need to read through the headline and spin to the underlying facts - and how many just do as Chris has done and taken this at face value.

Well the Mail didn't say it was an old poll. Why do they bother with out of date polls anyway?

Of course they didn't. It fits their world view and what they want to present to their readers as "news". This is why you need to question what you read and hear constructively to ensure you're not being had on by a misleading news source.

Cognitive dissonance. He will just stick his fingers in his ears, ignore tou and keep pretending it's real news. I prefer to pretend he's not in here spouting rubbish x

Jews being advised not to vote for Labour.

A senior rabbi has written to his congregation urging them to vote tactically against the Labour party, reports the Jewish Chronicle.

Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain is said to have written to 823 families to say a Jeremy Corbyn government would be a "danger to Jewish life as we know it".

According to the Chronicle, Dr Romain wrote: “I should stress that the problem is not the Labour Party itself, which has a long record of fighting discrimination and prejudice, but the problem is Jeremy Corbyn. Corbyn-led Labour, has at best, let anti-Semitism arise within its ranks, or at worst, has encouraged it."

I just can't see how Labour can win this election, even as largest party, when so many people are against them.

Given that I've been wrong about what logically should be the outcome of every election since 2015, I can only conclude that Labour are going to win the most seats in the General Election, regardless of what happens over the next few weeks (I think 290 vs 260 for the Conservatives, so not enough for an outright majority).

As for Antisemitism, I can conclude that the people who were going to vote for Labour will vote for them regardless of any stories that have come out and will continue to come out (with the exception of a large amount of Labour-supporting British Jews themselves), and the people who were never going to vote for Labour anyway will continue to use it as their justification for not doing so.

I really don´t see a scenario where Labour the most seats at all, sadly.

I think the best we can hope for is that the Tories fail to get enough seats to get a majority or close enough that they can form a pact with one of the other racist, fascist parties.

This election at the back of my mind, constantly. :(

I just don't want Boris to lose his job yet. He doesn't deserve such a short Premiership when he has lots of good yet to do for the country as well as getting us out of the EU.

Fortunately this isn’t about just one person, especially one who didn’t deserve the job in the first place and has no intention of doing good for anyone but himself.

The trolling is getting beyond belief now. You have more sympathy for this buffoon than you do for all those that will be negatively affected by his decisions.

How are these trolly posts allowed to stay up? It's not about a multi millionaire's job he doesn't deserve anyway. God sake.

I admit that he's made a few minor mistakes so needs more time to prove himself. Saying he didn't deserve the job is not a fact but your opinion. Conservative members thought he did and I hope the electorate will endorse him too on 12th Dec.

A few minor mistakes like... being in the pocket of Russian businessmen? A report he intentionally hid?

Will his policies positively affect your life? If not, do not vote for him. Actually scratch that, Tory policies kill the poor, don’t enable that. He is not your friend.

Completely spot on, Brett!!

So you agree with *his* prediction because it suits you better...

BNP, NF, Britain First etc are not going save any deposits let alone win any seats, so which Racist/fascist parties did you have in mind?

Not about one person? That's rich - Labour is 100% about Corbyn!

What are you babbling on about? People aren’t wanting Labour in simply because Corbyn, we’ve just spent almost ten years with a Tory government and the country cannot take anymore.

We'll see about that on Dec 12th...

So Labour should have seen sense and dumped Corbyn and then they'd be in line for a win I reckon.

Dumping Corbyn will be a necessity if they lose a 2nd election under him...
