February 5, 20205 yr So it’s healthy to be overweight and you’re all telling me if you were the size of that or your child was you’d be ok with it? I’m really struggling at how to put my point across well tbh. But I’m genuinely confused at how people can genuinely think she’s a good role model even after reading comments what almost all say the same thing. So Joseph, I’ll actually read her twitter. Tbh I agree with her on a lot of stuff. Also I’d like to say sorry to anyone who’s been offended it’s not like I’m going out of my way to try and say something what’s the opposite of everyone else but I do sometimes get carried away and I’m not always able to shut myself up. It’s because of comments like yours that I’ve struggled to be ok with my size for years actually. Being constantly reminded that I look unhealthy and being made an object of ridicule because of my size only drove me to comfort eating which did make me unhealthy. You’ve clearly never known this struggle yourself and honestly am struggling to see how you can say most of these things and not think you’re being completely offensive. I’m so lucky these days that I can go to the gym and feel comfortable despite lots of in shape looking people populating the gym. I don’t feel judged at any moment which was something I always worried about. I’m quite glad I don’t know anyone who would beg me to cover up because of who I am.

Being overweight poses a greater risk of health problems, that's a simple fact. However, it's no guarantee and you CAN be healthy and overweight. Loving your body doesn't mean you're not taking steps to lose weight and/or improve your health (cause those two things aren't always hand-in-hand), it means you're looking at yourself positively and respecting your own mental health. It must be horrible for Lizzo to log onto the internet and see people she doesn't know telling her she's unhealthy, shouldn't flaunt her body like the slim popstars and must lose weight. Whether she's setting out to lose weight or not is her business only! She's a role model because she speaks out for people who are not represented as much in the celebrity world, and definitely not in the world of pop music. She proves you don't have to be super skinny to be sexy, but more importantly, to be successful.
February 5, 20205 yr OMG Jordan I like you but your actual coming across so narrow minded and horrific right now. Cancelled.
February 5, 20205 yr I hope BRIT Awards haven’t stopped doing their compilation albums. Hope they start them again as the last one we had was in 2018
February 5, 20205 yr 2018's one came out on the 9th Feb - and with nothing announced there unsurprisingly won't be one
February 9, 20205 yr He'll be closing the show with a medley - so will presumably get the lifetime achievement award or whatever it's called :P
February 10, 20205 yr Author Wow that's a surprise! The Lifetime Achievement has been scrapped so I assume it's part of the celebrations for the 40th BRIT Awards?
February 10, 20205 yr I was just thinking that it'll be quite obvious who wins Best Album after Male is announced
February 10, 20205 yr The line-up of performers this year is actually pretty impressive, feels much less barrel-scraping than some other recent years. (Maybe apart from Celeste being on there but I'm not against the Critics' Choice / Rising Star being given more exposure on the actual night for once)
February 10, 20205 yr Not sure if this has been posted but tomorrow night there is a special documentary looking back at 40 years of The BRITs (8pm, ITV)
February 13, 20205 yr I have to to admit that this line up for the 2020 show just isn’t exciting me much at all. There’s just nobody on the line up who can deliver everything if that makes sense. Harry is probably the closest but it lacks like a huge name who can perform and not just sing. (And don’t even mention Lizzo we all know I ain’t keen).
February 14, 20205 yr Johnny Marr (formerly of The Smiths of course) will also be performing with Billie!
February 18, 20205 yr Tonight! Not much hype for it though tbh. I’ll likely watch as I always do but I don’t have the feeling I usually get on BRITS night :(
February 18, 20205 yr Actually forgot it was on tonight! I can see the ratings being particuarly low, even for their recent standards.
February 18, 20205 yr Kinda hoping Lewis performs Someone You Loved so Before You Go doesn't get the boost and can go onto ACR. Also hoping he doesn't sweep as predicted and Dave managed to bag an award or two. The lineup is pretty decent though so I'll defintley be watching
February 18, 20205 yr I'm actually feeling quite excited! The line-up is definitely appealing to me on the whole. Celeste to have a mini Adele moment with 'Strange' please
