December 3, 20196 yr Stormzy back ahead of Dua, I was wondering how he'd fallen behind yesterday as he's slightly ahead on all of the main relevant platforms (i.e. the ones listed on Kworb - even being at #1 on Apple Music ahead of Tones). Assuming Tones will be on ACR for Christmas week I think he's looking clearly like the frontrunner for Christmas #1 at the moment, not far behind Lewis already and he'll get a streaming boost from his album being out on Christmas week. Still too early to be confident about that though as there could end up being a big boost for Lewis (maybe a music video could do the trick), another huge release out of nowhere, another charity thing catching on like LadBaby did (although I don't see any signs of any viable contenders for that at the moment) or, God forbid, Tones dodging ACR again and just keeping the Xmas #1 by default. But even considering that... him currently having 6/1 odds feels very generous. Not sure why people are surprised at Ellie climbing more when all of the other Christmas songs have as well :P yesterday's update presumably didn't yet include the streams from Sunday (i.e. the biggest day for Christmas songs).

December 3, 20196 yr I'm trying not to begrudge Ellie's achievement, but if it's literally happening from people asking Alexa to play Christmas music and that being the default first selection I can't find any value or merit in it. :(

December 3, 20196 yr Leona Lewis back at Number 57. Could be Top 50 by Friday. Week 3 is relatively kind to Take That, Westlife and Celine Dion in the album chart. Oooh, that sounds good - where are Westlife? I hope they continue to get sales wit the build up to Christmas

December 3, 20196 yr I don’t use Alexa but I downloaded the River MP3 from Amazon, it’s a really lovely cover of an incredible song. I always enjoy Ellie’s ballads, they show off the fragility and beauty of her voice. I wish she’d do more music like again rather than the Spotify playlist chasing fodder, I’ve not enjoyed her last few singles much at all.
