Oh this song reminds of a sort of mix of early Lady Gaga and Little Boots in style - either way very 2009 to my ears. Very good song, and certainly sounds like a #1 single.

Maybe reading the almost universal love for this gave me unattainably high expectations but this didn't do much for me on first listen.

I had a listen this morning and I just came here to say a similar comment. I do really like it and I can see this continuing to grow, but the reactions here and the comparisons to 'Hung Up' made me think I'd be blown away so, in relation to that, I was a tad underwhelmed. 'Don't Start Now' gave me that sort of reaction that everyone's feeling for 'Physical' and I still find it just as undeniable now, could easily be my favourite from her.

Love it! Big sing-a-long chorus, moody verses and I love the 80's feel to the song. Everything seems to be right about this release! Hopefully it can do just as well as Don't Start Now as it's a big step up for Dua! New Rules and IDGAF sound a world away from this and DSN :heart:
This getting pretty much universally super positive reactions was actually worrying me a bit as I was preparing myself to have to be a contrarian again but thankfully not the case - this really is just a great song, finding it much more instant (and probably overall better) than 'Don't Start Now', living for synthwave suddenly becoming a mainstream force. :heart:

Love the video! So colourful and energetic. Now I just hope the public get on board and make this the smash it deserves to be!

 

Interesting to note that Physical was recorded in November 2018, imagine having a song like this up your sleeve for over a year.

Also after +130 plays I think I prefer this over DSN now, def didn't think she'd top that so quickly 😮 She's about to have another song right at the top of my EOY for a second year in a row *.*

The production is still killing me.

Just watched the video and had to do it twice - it's just so perfect. Most artists are now too focused on telling some story with gimmicks and pretty landscapes so this is a nice change. I haven't seen such a joyful video in a long time. The whole package is just pulling my 'happy' strings so hard. Very refreshing to only feel one raw mood when listening to a song. idk if it makes sense. The last time I remember that happening (but it was the other end of the mood board) was with My Immortal I think.

 

I think this will be my favourite mainstream pop song of the year and we barely even started it~

I've grown to quite love the video now after watching it a few times, that spinning part is so captivating.

 

My only negative point is that extremely dodgy dancing at 2:15. :lol:

Please get this to No.1, it can stay there forever, well at least a month.🥰

I’m sure it’ll get there eventually, but if this ends up missing the top 10 it’ll be one of the biggest injustices in ages
