171 Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj - Swish Swish | 2017 | EOY Peak: 18

172 Ulrik Munther - Requiem | 2013 | EOY Peak: 21

173 Troye Sivan feat. Betty Who - HEAVEN | 2016 | EOY Peak: 40

174 The Tide - Click My Fingers | 2016 | EOY Peak: 18

175 Carrie Underwood - Good Girl | 2012 | EOY Peak: 18

176 Pia Mia feat. Chris Brown & Tyga - Do It Again | 2015 | EOY Peak: 18

177 Jesper Jenset - High | 2016 | EOY Peak: 20

178 Greyson Chance - yours | 2019 | EOY Peak: 19

179 HRVY & Malu Trevejo - Hasta Luego | 2018 | EOY Peak: 18

180 Ella Henderson - Ghost | 2014 | EOY Peak: 19

After a couple of sections filled with a mish-mash of tracks, this section features a bunch of songs that have mostly all performed as forecast. Ella Henderson's Ghost was a huge smash hit not just in the UK but around the world, and it hit #1 as soon as the song premiered in my chart too. Another debut #1 hit is just one spot above - HRVY's first - and so far only - #1 single came when he collaborated with Spanish popstar Malu Trevejo on the infectious Hasta Luego in 2018. The Tide's Click My Fingers, released as their second single, became the only #1 for the American boyband in 2016 (who later split up in late 2017, just after their album release... and I oop).

The first of six Greyson Chance songs is at #178, with last year's single yours managing a solid EOY position. Other notable favourite artists of mine to appear in this section include Carrie Underwood with Good Girl - the first song I ever heard of hers in 2012 - as well as Ulrik Munther with Requiem, and Katy Perry with the absolutely cutting Swish Swish. Swish also features possibly my favourite Nicki Minaj guest verse to date, it's just so quotable. "This bitch is a stan".... well it looks like I am x

Pia Mia's breakthrough hit Do It Again didn't manage to go above #3 in my weekly chart, but finished with an EOY position of #18 and now features in my EOD top 200 too, very well deserved for a song that managed to be so good in spite of Chris Brown :kink: Jesper Jenset's High is one of a selection of my BJSC entries to appear here, notably becoming my third ever top 10 hit (of just five over 69 entries...!). The notable overperformer in this section is Troye Sivan's HEAVEN, a gorgeous song about sexuality and the worries of coming from a religious background where it may be frowned upon. One of Troye's absolute best songs of course

what I like so far:

171 Katy Perry feat. Nicki Minaj - Swish Swish | 2017 | EOY Peak: 18

176 Pia Mia feat. Chris Brown & Tyga - Do It Again | 2015 | EOY Peak: 18

177 Jesper Jenset - High | 2016 | EOY Peak: 20

180 Ella Henderson - Ghost | 2014 | EOY Peak: 19

181 Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin - I Like It | 2018 | EOY Peak: 20

189 Paloma Faith - Only Love Can Hurt Like This | 2014 | EOY Peak: 25

190 Ariana Grande - no tears left to cry | 2018 | EOY Peak: 21

192 Cheryl Cole - Parachute | 2010 | EOY Peak: xx

195 P!nk - Blow Me (One Last Kiss) | 2012 | EOY Peak: 21

196 Gabrielle Aplin - The Power of Love | 2012 | EOY Peak: 26

197 Taylor Swift - Shake It Off | 2014 | EOY Peak: 20

199 Grace feat. G-Eazy - You Don't Own Me | 2015 | EOY Peak: 23

my top faves being Swish Swish (this was my fave of hers for the decade excluding Calvin's 'Feels') and Ghost (easily her best track as a lead performer)

Here's what I've liked so far

Louisa Johnson - So Good

Grace - You Don't Own Me

Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

Gabrielle Aplin - The Power Of Love

Ariana Grande - No Tears Left To Cry

Pia Mia - Do It Again

Katy Perry - Swish Swish

4 of these (SIO, NTLTC, DIA & SS) were all #1 hits in my chart and will be appearing in my top 250 of the decade too.

Great start! :D

161 Laura Mvula - Green Garden | 2013 | EOY Peak: 15

162 Why Don't We - I Still Do | 2019 | EOY Peak: 16

163 Kelly Rowland feat. The WAV.s - Down For Whatever | 2011 | EOY Peak: xx

164 Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow | 2010 | EOY Peak: xx

165 Boy In Space feat. SHY Martin - On a Prayer | 2019 | EOY Peak: 17

166 Alec Benjamin - Mind Is a Prison | 2019 | EOY Peak: 18

167 Shakira feat. Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You | 2014 | EOY Peak: 18

168 Molly Sandén - Spread a Little Light | 2012 | EOY Peak: 22

169 Diplo & Lil Xan - Color Blind | 2018 | EOY Peak: 17

170 The Saturdays - What Are You Waiting For? | 2014 | EOY Peak: 17

One of my main obsessions over the course of the decade was The Saturdays, who produced an overall very strong discovery of bops and catchy tracks. What Are You Waiting For? was their final single release, unfortunately receiving no radio support so it did pretty terribly in the chart, but I still really loved it. It's one of two 2014 releases in this section, alongside Shakira's Can't Remember to Forget You - a highly anticipated collaboration with Rihanna that didn't meet many people's expectations, but I instantly loved it and still do now! Another track that finished at #18 in its respective EOY chart was Alec Benjamin's Mind Is a Prison from last year, just one spot below 2019's 17th placed track, On a Prayer from Boy In Space, and Why Don't We's I Still Do registers a third 2019 track in this section just three spaces higher!

2018 representation in this section comes from the unlikely but genius pairing of producer Diplo and rapper Lil Xan, who came together for the smooth Color Blind. Undoubtedly Lil Xan's most refined performance to date - they apparently worked on another song in mid-2018 but it still hasn't seen the light of day unfortunately! This section also features a couple of tracks that don't have an EOY position, including Pixie Lott's Broken Arrow from 2010 - a highly underrated, gorgeous ballad track! There's also Kelly Rowland's 2011 hit Down For Whatever, the second ever #1 in my chart.

Hugely overperforming expectations, Molly Sandén's Spread a Little Light didn't make my top 20 of 2012, but still features in my overall countdown, and it's well-deserved - the track is a really strong, very emotional power ballad, with incredible vocals and a really strong melody. Finally, closing out the section is Laura Mvula's breakthrough hit. Green Garden is effortlessly catchy, and a track I find myself revisiting often still seven years on!

161 Laura Mvula - Green Garden | 2013 | EOY Peak: 15

163 Kelly Rowland feat. The WAV.s - Down For Whatever | 2011 | EOY Peak: xx

164 Pixie Lott - Broken Arrow | 2010 | EOY Peak: xx

167 Shakira feat. Rihanna - Can't Remember To Forget You | 2014 | EOY Peak: 18

170 The Saturdays - What Are You Waiting For? | 2014 | EOY Peak: 17.

These all great from that selection there, Joseph.

'Green Garden' puzzled me how it wasn't a bigger hit.

151 Robin Schulz, David Guetta & Cheat Codes - Shed a Light | 2017 | EOY Peak: 11

152 Kylie Minogue - Get Outta My Way | 2010 | EOY Peak: xx

153 Zedd & Elley Duhé - Happy Now | 2018 | EOY Peak: 16

154 Troye Sivan - YOUTH | 2016 | EOY Peak: 23

155 5 Seconds of Summer - She Looks So Perfect | 2014 | EOY Peak: 15

156 Declan McKenna - Brazil | 2017 | EOY Peak: 15

157 Loreen - Euphoria | 2012 | EOY Peak: 16

158 Ke$ha - Die Young | 2012 | EOY Peak: 39

159 One Direction - Live While We're Young | 2012 | EOY Peak: 17

160 Little Mix - Touch | 2017 | EOY Peak: 17

Their highest appearance in the countdown, Touch is undoubtedly my favourite single by Little Mix to date. It's pop perfection and one of their two #1 singles in my weekly chart. Fellow X Factor alumni One Direction are one spot above with the lead single from Take Me Home, sharing an EOY position of #17 with Touch but five years prior. Other songs performing roughly on par are Eurovision winner Loreen (one of a small number of actual Eurovision tracks to hit #1 in my chart) and Zedd's ridiculously underrated Happy Now, with sublime vocals from Elley Duhé.

Declan McKenna's outspoken yet catchy sprinkling of indie-pop in the form of Brazil became a surprise #1 in my chart in 2017, and finishes at a very strong position of #156 here just as he's announced the release of his sophomore album. One spot above is the breakthrough hit for 5 Seconds of Summer - She Looks So Perfect remains my favourite of theirs. Speaking of favourite tracks, my top Kylie track is Get Outta My Way, and it appears at #152 here, just one spot below the big name dance collaboration of Shed a Light - the only #1 single for Robin Schulz and David Guetta in my chart, and one of three for Cheat Codes. It underperforms slightly as I don't revisit it a lot but it's still a great track!

Overperforming in this section is Kesha's Die Young, the lead single from second album Warrior, back when she still had the $ sign in her name. Die Young ended up being split between two EOYs, featuring in 2013 as well, but its 2012 revised position of #39 was its best showing. Troye Sivan's YOUTH was also split between EOYs but 2016 saw a far better position, and an even better showing in the EOD countdown.

I think 'She Looks So Perfect' is one of the songs that divides Brade the most :kink: but I'm firmly on team love, we're on the correct side tbh!!

'Touch' is an excellent choice of Little Mix favourite  'DNA' will not budge from the top for me but 'Touch' is definitely up there as one of their best <3

Euphoria, that will be making my list a bit higher up.

I also enjoyed Shed a Light, Die Young, Touch.

Brazil  Love Declan McKenna and that is one of his best, so incredibly catchy!

Giving Spread a Little Light a listen now, a lovely pop piece! Speaking of lights, Shed A Light is a tune as well, as is Euphoria.

Get Outta My Way always enjoyed this from Kylie. Euphoria bonafold classic, Die Young great from Ke$ha. Also enjoyed Live While We're Young, Touch.

141 Major Lazer feat. Justin Bieber & MØ - Cold Water | 2016 | EOY Peak: 13

142 Jonas Blue feat. Jack & Jack - Rise | 2018 | EOY Peak: 13

143 Tom Odell - Magnetised | 2016 | EOY Peak: 14

144 Carrie Underwood - Blown Away | 2012 | EOY Peak: 14

145 Kygo feat. Conrad Sewell - Firestone | 2015 | EOY Peak: 15

146 Ruel - Younger | 2018 | EOY Peak: 19

147 Conrad Sewell - Start Again | 2015 | EOY Peak: 14

148 Ava Max - Torn | 2019 | EOY Peak: 15

149 Tom Odell - Grow Old With Me | 2013 | EOY Peak: 16

150 Benjamin feat. Sweet California - Man On the Moon | 2016 | EOY Peak: 17

The vast majority of this section, by coincidence, came about in the second half of the decade. Benjamin Peltonen's first appearance of two is at #150 with help from girl group Sweet California. The track isn't one of his three #1s, instead peaking at #3, but has proved its worth through longevity, earning its place as my second favourite Benjamin track. We have double Tom Odell in here - Grow Old With Me, from 2013, is at #149, while Wrong Crowd's lead single Magnetised is at #143. Magnetised is one of Tom's two #1 singles (the other is still to come), though Grow Old With Me is one of his FOUR unlucky #2 hits...!

A couple more unlucky #2s feature in this section, too. Conrad Sewell had two #2s in 2015, both blocked by his own track Hold Me Up in its mammoth six-week stint at the top! Start Again features first - his breakthrough solo hit in his native Australia. His global hti Frestone, alongside Kygo, is just two spots above, and sandwiched in the middle is Ruel's Younger - a huge hit, but unfortunately it was blocked from the top spot by froy's sideswipe. It's one of two Ruel tracks to feature in the countdown.

Ava Max's global hit Sweet But Psycho surprisingly isn't her biggest hit in my chart - the highly underrated Torn is actually her only #1 for me! It features here at #148, an impressive showing with how new it is. Carrie Underwood's highest track is Blown Away, at #144, while two dance hits round out the section - Jonas Blue's Rise and Major Lazer's Cold Water, the first #1 hits for them and their featured artists with one notable exception...! Four more Bieber tracks to come.

131 Anton Hagman - Kiss You Goodbye | 2017 | EOY Peak: 13

132 Lily Allen - URL Badman | 2014 | EOY Peak: 14

133 Camila Cabello feat. Young Thug - Havana | 2017 | EOY Peak: 14

134 Sofía Reyes feat. Rita Ora & Anitta - R.I.P. | 2019 | EOY Peak: 13

135 Iggy Azalea feat. T.I. - Change Your Life | 2013 | EOY Peak: 13

136 Harry Styles - Adore You | 2019 | EOY Peak: 14

137 Ulrik Munther - Before | 2018 | EOY Peak: 15

138 Demi Lovato - Skyscraper | 2011 | EOY Peak: xx

139 Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull - On the Floor | 2011 | EOY Peak: xx

140 Clean Bandit feat. Sean Paul & Anne-Marie - Rockabye | 2016 | EOY Peak: 16

DAILY STRUGGLE! Clean Bandit teamed up with Sean Paul and Anne-Marie for a huge chart-topper in 2016, and it topped my personal chart too, their second #1 and the first for both features. All of the artists involved will feature again, notably Anne-Marie who pops up two more times! There's double 2011 representation just above, kicking off with the collaboration that started one of music's most iconic partnerships. Of course, it's Mr Worldwide, and the world's most beautiful woman, J-Lo *_* On the Floor was a gigantic global hit, and is a massive tune of course, but they have another team-up to come! :o Demi Lovato's stunning track Skyscraper is just one spot above, it was the first song I truly loved by Demi!

Ulrik Munther appears again with 2018's Before, his second of six tracks to drop out of my top 200, while Harry Styles' Adore You and Sofía Reyes' R.I.P. represent 2019 in this section. Rita Ora, who featured on the latter song, also teamed up with Iggy Azalea for a track that's yet to appear. Iggy's here first with Change Your Life, a track that was huge for me in 2013 though it was eclipsed by a few tracks she released afterwards, which I'd never have expected at the time! Lily Allen's URL Badman, an especially relevant track six years after its release, is sandwiched between two breakthrough hits for varying reasons. Camila Cabello's Havana was the track that took her to global superstardom as a soloist, while Anton Hagman's Kiss You Goodbye was his first proper single all round, reaching the 2017 Melodifestivalen final.
