Amen. Sweet Melody hasn’t even charted in Australia, a market which was once supportive of Little Mix. The US is never going to happen. It’s frustrating, but just enjoy the renewed success Little Mix are having the UK, because even that seemed rocky for a while.

Not to sound disrespectful, but Oz is a big USA wannabe country. When LM were showing signs of cracking the USA market, they were all over LM. Now, they're good as gone. Kylie is one of the few artists that does well in Oz (and who isn't big in the USA), and that's only because she's Aussie. If she were British or another nationality, it would've been the same story.

Shame about the USA though. They had all the stars aligned to be the female 1D and it's amazing how it all fell apart.

That said, onto brighter things - here's hoping it goes to #1 in the UK. I love Confetti and the girls so much.

I thought Dua would invite them as well to perform with her on that 2054 thing. Apparently her show had 5mil viewers???

Didn't LM only start flopping in Aus when they cancelled a tour? I think they cancelled it to record new music? A really bad career decision since it's taken their second-most successful country away from them.

Though SM has been hovering around #100 there on AM and iTunes since release so I think a push could have made it a cute hit and helped them win the country back a bit.

Yes, tour cancelling really damages an act's appeal in that country, I fully believe that the US never happened for them because of the Salute tour which was actually doing quite well, a lot of locations had sold out. But then they cancelled it to work on Get Weird (or their third album which was scrapped). The cancellation of the LM5 tour was just stupid.

Australia's music scene is actually a replica of the UK, that's how a lot of songs that were big in the UK would end up being big in Aus without having to "grow", so that's how Little Mix always managed to be big there (they're still the best selling girl group of all time there.. so it's something!) but once they cancelled their tour it just.. died for them.

I don't think Dua and the girls like each other. Jade was asked about her before and she was very reluctant for an answer and when Dua was asked about a collaboration with them she looked so uncomfortable. I love Dua and her music but she comes across as so stuck up sometimes, I feel like their personalities would clash.

The same happened with America, they cancelled the Salute tour didn't they and that really hurt their fan base over there. I know it was to record Get Weird but you can see by their albums in the US that they never recovered.

Any news of today’s position?

Kylie’s climbed to 6 I’m guessing with the dispatch of the deluxe and glow in the dark vinyl.

Yeah, it's 7 today, but only 21 copies behind Kylie.

I’m thinking by Friday Kylie will drop below the girls anyway. Another week top 10 is great!

Perfect! Hopefully they can stay at 6 because Kylie’s preorders of the glow

In the dark vinyl and deluxe have all been shipped now.

I can't see them falling out of the top 10 until January to be honest. They're pushed out of the top 5 by new releases every week, but seem to overtake most of the new entries from the week before. This Friday is the last weekend of big releases, so they should hopefully return to the top 5 in the last couple of weeks of December.

If you look at the weekly ARIA chart ,it looks like a dated Billboard Hot 100 to me, with a few British artists thrown in. I always have a joke that one just has to be an American or fake an american accent to score a hit on the Aussie charts!

I agree. I'm a big Kylie fan. But right from the get-go, I always predicted that whilst K would win the #1 battle, Confetti would outsell Disco. I reckon LM will get to #6, and K will probably fall to #9. I'm surprised AC/DC is still top 5. I thought most heritage acts would fall out of the top 5 by 3rd week!

"Heritage acts" honestly THRIVE in quarter 4! But as soon as Christmas is over they tend to not stay around for too much longer.

I can't see Kylie falling below LM this week if she leap frogged them today. The shops are open again and HMV still have various signed copies of Disco (well, we did)

But we'll see. Hopefully it benefits LM just as much! They usually do well with gift buyers!

Do you think there's any chance of top 5?

Nah, everything thing in the Top 5 is outselling them and are too far ahead.

I'm so happy with how this is holding up though.

2-7-6-7(?) is so good! Very good chart run so far! Can't wait to see what kind of effect Strictly has for them and whether it'll help boost their sales enough to carry them through Christmas and into the new year! Looking to be in a decent position to nab a number 1 in the early part of 2021. *fingers crossed*

*Adele, Lewis Capaldi or Ed surprise release an album in the first couple of weeks of January...*

Honestly that's LM luck lmao!

She put Happiness at #1 though, you better push for it to be a single Jade

On her TikTok

She had Happiness, SM and Confetti as her top 3 and Breathe last
