I think Sweet Melody is doing a lot of good promo for the album though.

Album #17 on Amazon now. I think that's a new peak (for the normal version)

Surely they will have some sort of promo lined up, I don’t expect them to go through the entirety of release week without some tv appearances booked in?

I think Alicia Keys is the guest on the release weekend for Jonathan Ross.

 

Honestly them not getting Strictly is a massive kick in the nuts. I don't think there's a proper show they can promote on? One Show possibly, but I don't see it.

 

Lorraine doesn't really have musical guests and I think Children in Need would've been announced by now, no?

 

I still don't think Kylie is going to get the #1 after seeing how well Sweet Melody did and how the album is stable on streaming weeks before it's out but they definitely at least 1 promo slot somewhere..

In terms of release week, guests for Strictly, Graham Norton, Jonathan Ross and The One Show have already been announced.

 

Only a couple of guests for Children in Need have been announced so far, we'll probably find out more next week.

I mean, decent Spotify playlisting will do more for Sweet Melody (and the album) than TV performances will.

If they don’t get a promo slot I won’t be too angry. I’m sure the EMA’s performance is going to blow up online...

 

The Search being pushed back will be beneficial too...

Kylie always receives a healthy boost whenever she promotes/performs on TV. EMAs (which really don't have any kind of effect - here in the UK at least) and The Search (which is obviously, mostly drawing in die-hards who will have/ordered the album already) will not be enough.. they really need to get some promo slots, if they want that #1 album.

I don’t think it’s that bleak tbh. The sales climate has changed so much in 2 and a half years, Little Mix manage to do well with both streaming and physical whereas Kylie doesn’t do well with streaming and the physical side of things is what is suffering in this music climate. I don’t think she has the #1 after seeing the reaction to Happiness and Sweet Melody, even NAPS to an extent and of course BUS. They’ve been top 5 on Apple Music for the last few weeks and beating her on iTunes for the last few weeks too.

It just really depends on whether her fans have gone as hard on her store - they usually go pretty damn hard with her formats. Little Mix have never done loads of versions of the album/formats so it's impossible to judge how hard her fans have gone.

Little Mix will have such a HUGE streaming advantage that Kylie would need to be on every show possible! Her new song is getting no streams at all! Break up song is probably getting more daily streams than all disco songs combined right now

The decline in sales is gonna be iconic the second week tho

I wonder if we'll get any snippets leading up to the album this time? They usually give us them, but they've been quite tight lipped this era over a lot of things, even when teasing songs they've given us crumbs.

 

I hope they give us an album sampler like they did for Glory Days, that was a MOMENT. Today would be good too and then it lets us get closer to the songs before release.
