First top 10 hit for Wizzard in 46 years!!

Gross. It's really bad. Only heard it ONCE on Alexa all December so far. Slade is so much better.

The whole top ten to be full of amazon exclusives next year plz x
That John Legend cover of 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' now being a top 10 hit is actually offensive. One of the worst covers I've ever been subjected to. John Legend is not even a bad singer, why does he sound so bad on it??

New peak for Elton / new digital era peak for Wizzard though :cheer:

Is it better than the Popstars version in 2003 that flopped bad even though it reached No5?

"Step Into Christmas" is really poor, don't get how it has become a yearly Christmas staple.

Also learned this month that Queen have "Thank God It's Christmas" which is fantastic yet I've never noticed it get anywhere on an annual basis! So Elton's success can't just be down to having a 'legendary name'.

Queen's Xmas song is great but has never really been played much on radio or appeared on compilations.

The host said 7 songs left 5 of which are Xmas so LadBaby has actually RISEN from mids!

Does Alexa Goulding count as an Xmas song though?? Maybe not to the new presenters eh!

I assume they forgot Ellie was a Christmas song. We haven't heard any of Ellie, Mariah, Wham!, The Pogues, Band Aid or Shakin' Stevens so there are definitely 6 Xmas songs remaining alongside Stormzy.

Well they played him as a contender too! But yes they might not realise that about River lol.

Band Aid is always one I tend to skip...

I heard that Queen song for the first time EVER this year thanks to Heart Xtra and Alexa this year and love it! But for the first year EVER I also love Step into Christmas. Used to hate it :/

Probably helps that Elton has a video for his whereas Queen don't.

Queen is one of my favourites ever, it was on the first Now Christmas cassette and charted top 30 only because 1984 was a HUGE year for xmas songs, so may have got lost in the stampede.

'Do They Know It's Christmas?' still the superior version by miles, I don't mind the 2014 one either but am not huge on the other two.

Damn it, BRING BACK SCOTT!

I’m not sure. I listened to the album on Spotify and it didn’t have Happy Xmas

May be added again next year due to the Amazon exclusive?

Hmmm still prefer Band Aid II

I agree but I like it too. I normally skip it when watching the music channels on tv as ive heard it so much.
