How are video views weighted relative to paid streams? Rather low, I suspect?

The same as free audio streams, 600:1 (or 1200:1 on ACR). Paid streams are 100:1 (or 200:1 on ACR)

Yeah no. Mariah had 2.2 million views, not 800k. She waa no.1. The OCC hate her so much that they even gave the streaming record to that dire Wham dirge. This is beyonf a joke. Charts are cancelled. Finished. She is no.1 and a record-breaker according to the ACTUAL data. The end.

Get over it and grow up. It's been explained so move on.

Where has it been explained? All we know is that they lied saying they added the Jukebox Heaven streams to her total, when they clearly didn't.
So what's the arguement here that they are just lying flat about the video streams?

Yes. They said they noticed the mistake but added everything into Mariah's total. I don't think anyone believes that she only did 714k. They've been caught in a lie and Sony are still trying to get answers. But the main problem is almost everyone is on break until the New Year.

And to think The Modern "Industry" (I think it was) was disqualified from the chart in 2004 because the CD ran over the allotted time limit by SECONDS!

They're a lot looser these days, the OCC!

It was disqualified because the Dad of the lead singer (Chi Tudor Hart) bought 141 copies online from Austria to 'distribute to friends and family' - this was considered chart rigging.

Even if they did it still wouldn't have taken her to No.1.

Insane to think 141 copies was considered rigging but Amazon playing their own songs every 20 minutes to anyone who asks for Christmas music, artificially giving thousands of extra sales isn't!

Even if they did it still wouldn't have taken her to No.1.

Maybe true, but the 714,000 views OCC considered Mariah to have achieved, plus approx 840,000 views from Jukebox Heaven, still doesn't come close to matching the number of views that Kworb states she achieved on YouTube over Christmas. So there's still a major discrepancy. It's really frustrating to think that OCC may not feel motivated to fully investigate their own mistakes.

This issue isn't just about Mariah possibly overcoming the sales gap between herself and Ellie. There's two other drawbacks that comes from OCC's mistake that negatively affected Mariah this week. 1) They declared that Wham had broken an overall streaming record, when it's highly likely that it was genuinely Mariah who did it / 2) Mariah is owed thousands of missing sales to her overall total. / 3) If OCC turn a blind eye to this moving forward and don't properly investigate, Mariah could continue to lose out on views/sales in future Christmases.

I really hope Sony are persistent in getting proper answers from OCC.

I'm glad Wham got the streaming record as I like the song better, think it's feesible that that fact could be true.

It's evident from Kworb's YouTube figures that Mariah achieved way more views than them though.

Mariah always out-performs Wham, so it really makes no sense that Wham's video would randomly do better than her last week. Particularly considering that Mariah released a brand new video version.

True but on streams anyway they are always relatively close these days.
The number of video views given by OCC to Mariah are way different to the real ones given by Youtube. Really strange...
