Posted December 30, 20195 yr It’s that time of year again… Over the past year nearly 250 songs have charted on the Electro Top 40 with 20 different numbers one throughout the year (5 less than last year): Jax Jones x Years & Years // Play (4 Weeks) [8 Weeks Total] M-22 // White Lies (1 Week) Mabel // Don’t Call Me Up (3 Weeks) Lauv x Troye Sivan // I’m so tired… (4 Weeks) Meduza ft GOODBOYS // Piece of Your Heart (2 Weeks) Jax Jones & Martin Solveig ft Madison Beer // All Day And Night (1 Week) Becky Hill & Weiss // I Could Get Used To This (3 Weeks) New Hope Club // Love Again (4 Weeks) Sigala x Becky Hill // Wish You Well (6 Weeks) Shawn Mendes & Camilla Cabello // Señorita (1 Week) Ed Sheeran ft Chance the Rapper & PnB Rock // Cross Me (3 Weeks) CamelPhat x Jake Bugg // Be Someone (1 Week) Duke Dumont x Zak Abel // The Power (3 Weeks) Camila Cabello // Liar (1 Week) Jax Jones x Ella Henderson // This is Real (4 Weeks) Gryffin & Gorgon City x AlunaGeorge // Baggage (3 Weeks) [Non-Consecutive] Niall Horan // Nice to Meet Ya (2 Weeks) [Non-Consecutive] Billie Eilish // everything i wanted (2 Weeks) Sigala ft Ella Henderson // We Got Love (3 Weeks) The Weeknd // Blinding Lights (2 Weeks) In terms of weeks at the top this year the award for most weeks goes to Sigala who in total has notched up 9 weeks and Jax Jones and also Becky Hill who have also notched up an impressive 9 weeks at the top. Ella Henderson who has had 2 massive features clocks up 7 weeks at the top of the chart; the rest between 1-4 weeks. I’m going to countdown the top 125 songs that made it on the chart (same as last year); including their chart run, peaks etc. This is based on a points format eg 40pts for Number 1, 39pts for Number 2 etc etc to 40 getting a point. I guess this means that songs still charting are hindered slightly, however that is the case with end of years charts anyway normally with sales etc and those songs will no doubt feature in my 2020 chart. December 30, 20195 yr Author 125 = Sigma ft Jack Savoretti // You and Me As One = 136pts Chart Run (20-18-16-18-22-28-32-38) Peak = 16 Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks ph9YcLJ1fog Kicking off the EOY chart is Sigma and Jack Savoretti which was performed today on Top of the Pops. It was top 20 on my chart for 4 weeks and Sigma wise is one of their better most recent outputs. However a far cry from Nobody to Love which is still an absolute bop. This is the soul entrant for both Sigma and Jack on my EOY chart and I think it was a decent song, and I love Jack’s voice on it, however exited the chart fairly quickly after just 8 weeks. I might actually revisit this over the next few days as I possibly passed it over a bit too quickly :D
December 30, 20195 yr Author 124 = Sam Fender // Play God = 138pts Chart Run (03-08-16-20-26-35) Peak = 03 Weeks on Chart = 6 Weeks L12ORqw6R7A Up next, possibly surprisingly given its top 3 peak is Play God by Sam Fender… which in hindsight now I don’t think would’ve dived down the charts as much as It did! I actually play this a fair bit now, so the short chart run isn’t really reflective of how much I like the song. This is also the highest Sam Fender track on the EOY chart, whilst other tracks have charted, they too have had short chart runs. Will We Talk? finishes at 178, The Borders finishes at 216 and All is on my Side at 232. As I said I like Sam, it just seems I get bored by the songs quickly
December 30, 20195 yr You and Me as One is really growing on me again now, it had peaked on my chart a few months back but every time I listened to it I was just reminded of what a powerful song it was so could very well be in my EOY next year, glad it's scraped into yours!
December 30, 20195 yr Author 123 = McFly // Red = 141pts Chart Run (16-15-19-22-28-24-29-37-X-38) Peak = 15 Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks JxfauaeEEvk Next up, 2019 saw the return of McFly and their ‘Lost Songs’ from an unreleased album which they pumped out each week for a few months. Red was the first track released and is a bit of a banger to start of the ‘Lost Songs’ as some weren’t great :D This is the second highest track on the EOY chart with ‘We Were Only Kids’ just missing out at 127. The other remaining track is Touch the Rain which is still to come. Red peaked at 15 and spent 3 weeks in the top 20 and 9 weeks overall on the Electro Chart; even registering as a re-entry shortly after it exited the chart. Edited December 30, 20195 yr by ElectroBoy
December 30, 20195 yr Author 122 = Billie Eilish // bury a friend = 141pts Chart Run (07-09-15-19-27-32-37) Peak = 07 Weeks on Chart = 7 Weeks HUHC9tYz8ik Another song with a top 10 peak that ultimately had quite a short chart run on the Electro Chart (something which a lot of Billie’s tracks seem to do). Bury a friend peaked in the first week at Number 7 and spent 2 weeks in the top 10 with a total of 7 weeks in the top 40. This is the first of 3 Billie tracks to make the EOY chart… Bad Guy isn’t one of them as it peaked at 22, although I think in retrospect would probably have charted better. In terms of relistening to bury a friend, I don’t really return to bury a friend much and certainly isn’t up there for me in term’s of Billie songs I go back to.
December 30, 20195 yr Author 121 = Ed Sheeran ft Khalid // Beautiful People = 142pts Chart Run (21-20-26-27-20-18-24-32-39) Peak = 18 Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks mj0XInqZMHY Haven’t got too much to say about this song; I’m surprised it amassed so many points to be honest as it is quite bland… well very bland. It managed 3 weeks in the top 20 and just seemed to hang around mid-chart fir quite a while. This is the first of 3 Ed tracks in the EOY chart with I Don’t Care and Cross Me still to come
December 30, 20195 yr Bury a Friend is my fave here so far - Billie's songs also have very short chart runs for me too mostly because her songs don't have much replay value even if they're good songs.
December 31, 20195 yr Author 120 = Zedd x Katy Perry // 365 = 143pts Chart Run (24-12-17-22-29-27-32-32-35-37) Peak = 12 Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks YrbgUtCfnC0 Kicking off the top 120 is the collaboration between Zedd and Katy Perry; this is the first of 2 Katy Perry tracks to make the EOY chart with Nothing Really Matters still to chart. 365 is ok, however like Beautiful People am surtprised it managed to accumulate as many points as it has. The song is alight, however isn’t one that I have returned too all that much, its also far from Zedd or KP’s best. The tack managed 10 weeks on the chart, however just 2 weeks in the top 20 peaking at 12 in its 2nd week.
December 31, 20195 yr Author 119 = Harry Styles // Adore You = 146pts Chart Run (10-02-03-03-X) Peak = 02 Weeks on Chart = 4 Weeks (Still Charting) iquhBgM-Qv0 Up next is the latest single from Harry Styles, which is still charting and make the EOY chart after just 4 weeks on the Electro Chart. Its gained 3 weeks in the top 3 with a peak so far of 2, however at the moment its likely to climb to the top spot next week. I’m guessing (unless it plummets) that Adore You will chart higher in the 2020 EOY, however it’s a great song and I think my favourite single of his so far. His output for the 2nd album has been a lot stronger for me than the first campaign and its good to see him still getting success whilst so the majority of One Direction don’t seem to be holding up year on year. Still Adore You is great and one of my fave tracks at the moment.
December 31, 20195 yr Author 118 = Billie Eilish // WHEN I WAS OLDER = 147pts Chart Run (10-13-18-17-22-28-33-40) Peak = 10 Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks 19OKHdp6gPE Another Billie Eilish track next who makes her 2nd appearance in the EOY chart. WHEN I WAS OLDER was back in the brief period Billie used all capitals rather than all lower case. It peaked at number 10 and had 4 weeks in the top 20 with 8 weeks in total on the Electro chart. Again, not really a song I return to much; Billie’s songs are interesting, however echoing what Dan said, they have little repeat value after a while.
December 31, 20195 yr Author 117 = Pet Shop Boys ft Years & Years // Dreamland = 148pts Chart Run (16-23-25-30-29-30-22-23-30-34) Peak = 16 Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks RokbHjyPbyk Up next the first appearance of Years and Years who were somewhat dominant in my chart last year with their album release of Palo Santo. Here they’re a feature with the Pet Shop Boys on Dreamland which is a great song and really I think should’ve had a higher peak and a better chart run than it did. It peaked at 16, however went on to have 10 weeks on the Electro Chart, however despite taking a few climbs over the weeks never managed to properly break through. A shame really as I still play this a fair bit and I think it is a good, catchy song.
January 1, 20205 yr Author 116 = Rudimental ft RAY BLK & Stefflon Don // Scared of Love = 150pts Chart Run (23-12-12-15-21-27-31-37) Peak = 12 Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks QpcTZ63Cj5g Next Rudimental manage to register a hit, they seem to have gone off the boil a bit since their 2nd album and the abortion that was These Days. However I did quite like Scared of Love. It peaked at 12 for 2 weeks and spent a total of 8 weeks in the Electro Chart. It’s the only song by any artist here in the Electro EOY Chart.
January 1, 20205 yr Author 115 = Freya Ridings // Castles = 152pts Chart Run (19-15-17-15-20-25-30-36-40) Peak = 15 Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks H-3rxh8kZHE Kicking off the top 115 is Freya Ridings who’s song Castles managed 5 straight weeks in the Electro Top 20 before tumbling down the chart. A bit more of an upbeat song for Freya and I thought it was quite pleasant at the time, its not really a song that I return to that much anymore though.

January 2, 20205 yr 365 was my favourite song from both Zedd and Katy in quite a while so naturally it did terribly chart-wise :kink: Castles and Dreamland are other faves from this section also!
January 4, 20205 yr Author Thanks for the comments :) Hopefully going to break the back of this tomorrow...
January 4, 20205 yr Author 114 = David Guetta & MORTEN ft Aloe Blacc // Never Be Alone= 154pts Chart Run (09-15-17-19-23-26-30-35-X) Peak = 09 Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks (Still Charting) vAYFMqSoObk Up next a song which I came to very late in the day; Never Be Alone by Guetta, MORTEN and Blacc. The song peaked at 9 and had a fairly short run in the top 20, however is still currently charting. Its definitely better than the majority of Guetta’s latest output and is the first of 2 appearances from him with ‘Make it to Heaven’ still to chart. This has sort of become overshadowed by Make it to Heaven now, but still a bop.
