62 = Calvin Harris & Rag'n'Bone Man // Giant = 273pts

Chart Run (05-05-10-12-16-20-17-24-23-26-30-34-38)

Peak = 5

Weeks on Chart = 13 Weeks

This feels so old now, that I was surprised that it was a hit in 2019; feels like it should be 2018. This is the first and only appearance by both Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone Man, the former of which has in the past dominated my charts. Giant I wasn’t a massive fan of (to the level of some Calvin songs) however managed to peak at 5 and spend 13 weeks on the chart. It’s a good song and a good one to bop to.

61 = New Hope Club // Karma = 278pts

Chart Run (X-02-02-04-08-11-13-18-23-27-33-34-39)

Peak = 2

Weeks on Chart = 12 Weeks (Weeks in 2019)

….and out just before the top 60 is the 2nd of 5 appearance from New Hope Club in the form of their song Karma. The song started charting in 2018 and went on to spend another 12 weeks on the Electro chart managing to peak at 2. The song is from their first EP and is a great song (IMO), a shame really that none of their stuff has ever really done anything officially. Still to chart for them is Somebody That You Loved, Love Again and Permission

Chart Run (07-06-07-05-07-13-15-19-25-32-36)

Peak = 5

Kicking off the top 60 is the Weeknd with his song with Gesaffelstein; Lost in the Fire. The song spent 11 weeks on the chart with 5 of those weeks within the top 10, peaking at Number 5. Some of the Weeknd’s song have been a bit samey off late, however I love his vocals on this song and do return to this from time to time… its no Blinding Lights or Can’t Feel My Face though!

I’ve never really been a fan of Miley Cyrus, however really like Mother’s Daughter and is a bit different from a lot of her output. The song peaked at also peaked at 5 and spent 12 weeks on the chart. The song had quite a swift exit from the chart; after leaving the top 20 and I kind of went off the song and got a bit bored with it :D

Chart Run (26-21-07-06-04-04-06-06-06-X)

Peak = 4

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks (Still Charting)

Now this is a total bop and still charting in my top 10… At 58 is M-22 with their song Eyes off You from Charlie’s Angels. M-22 also have the song White Lies still to come and was a Number 1 on my chart. Eyes off You grew on me massively and has spent 7 of its 9 weeks in my 2019 chart in the top 10. Very catchy and a song I’m still playing to death; it will probably make my 2020 EOY chart too at the rates its going.

At 57, the first of two Shawn Mendes songs to reach my EOY chart (the other being the obvious)> If I Can’t Have You had a very consistent chart run and despite just 1 week in the top 10, went on to spend a total of 15 weeks on the chart. The song was a return to the chart after his ridiculous album campaign which didn’t seem to know what it was doing. I like If I Can’t Have You, however probably not the song from Shawn I’d return to first; decent though.

my fave since I last commented

71 = MJ Cole & Freya Ridings // Waking Up

70 = Mark Ronson ft Camila Cabello // Find U Again

69 = Jess Glynne x Jax Jones // One Touch

65 = Tones & I // Dance Monkey my fave UK #1 of 2019

63 = Aitch // Taste (Make it Shake)

62 = Calvin Harris & Rag'n'Bone Man // Giant another amazing track from Calvin, which will feature very high in my list

At 56 a surprise hit on my chart from X Factor alumni Luke Friend. I listened to this upon first release out of curiosity as he was my fave of that XF year and thought it was really good; it spent 13 weeks in total on the chart with 5 of those weeks in the top 10 and a peak of 2. Off course this did nothing officially, however still a good song, however not quite hitting my top 50.

Up next the highest song for Rita Ora this year; Ritual. The song had just 1 week in the top 10, however 10 weeks in total in the top 20. I don’t remember liking the song as much as the chart run suggests, however it is a decent enough bop. Rita’s had some big hits on my chart and this has been a fairly quiet year for her. This is also the highest song for both Tiesto and Jonas Blue too.

At 54 is the highest and final appearance by Will Young. All the Songs launched his last album campaign and whilst it did nothing officially, it peaked at 5 on my chart and spent a massive 15 weeks on the Electro Chart. As I said for Will’s other song that charted, its good to see that after nearly 20 years Will is still releasing music and able to get some hit albums.

The 2nd highest former One Direction song next as Lights Up manages to clock up enough weeks on the chart to almost go top 50. When I initially heard this song, I was in the meh camp, however it grew on me massively and peaked at 3 and spent 4 weeks in the top 10. Harry’s 2nd album is great (IMO) and this is the song that kicked off the campaign, it became Harry’s first real big hit on my chart… although Adore You looks like its going to outshine it by quite some way.

Here are some of the songs I've enjoyed so far on your list:

Chart Run (15-19-23-21-12-13-06-08-13-17-25-29-33-37)

Peak = 6

Weeks on Chart = 14 Weeks

At 52 is the trio of Grande, Cyrus and del Rey who clocked up 14 weeks on my chart and a peak of 6. The song was a bit of a sleeper hit on my chart and didn’t peak until its 7th week. Don’t Call Me Angel was from the Charlie’s Angel film and is currently the biggest song from there on my chart (although the M-22 song will overtake this no doubt). This is also the highest ranted song from all artists on here too.

Didn't know you liked SUNSHINE so much! :o Pleased to see it appear here alongside Lights Up, Ritual, Don't Call Me Angel, If I Can't Have You and more!

Just missing out on the top 50 by a point is Joel Corry’s Sorry; the song peaked at 6 and spent 3 weeks in the top 10. It took a fair whilst to leave the chart and spent 6 weeks yo-yoing up and down in the 20’s. The song is a bit basic, but still a bop and it was good to see more dance music being a success officially.
