113 = Jax Jones x Bebe Rexha // Harder = 156pts

Chart Run (12-13-14-13-20-29-32-39)

Peak = 12

Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks

The first appearance by Jax Jones this year who’s released some bangers… however Harder wasn’t really one of them. It took ages to catch on with me and in the end managed 8 weeks; 5 weeks of which were in the top 20. However there isn’t a great hook here and a bit like MNEK, Bebe Rexha doesn’t ever seem to be able to land a hit these days. Harder does however beat ‘Jacques’ from Jax’s output which ends up at 142. However there are still 4 more Jax songs left to chart…

Harder is so good. I prefer This Is Real though. :wub:

Good chart so far.

112 = Will Young // My Love = 161pts

Chart Run (21-33-11-13-16-20-27-31-37-40)

Peak = 11

Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

The first of two Will Young songs to chart this year is My Love which managed 10 weeks on the Electro Chart with a number 11 peak. Despite the 10 weeks, it was In the lower regions for quite some time. I like My Love and its good to see Will still pumping out songs after such a long time after winning Pop Idol. His other song; All the Songs is still yet to chart.

111 = Dimension ft Cameron Hayes // Devotion = 161pts

Chart Run (10-11-13-16-26-29-31-34-38)

Peak = 10

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks

Up a next a massive dance tune in the form of Devotion which I thought did better chart wise than it actually has! It peaked at 10 and went on to spend 4 weeks in total in the top 20. Dimension have a further hit to come with Sub Focus which actually did a lot better than Devotion.

110 = Example // Do it So Well = 162pts

Chart Run (23-03-04-05-08-X)

Peak = 3

Weeks on Chart = 5 Weeks (Still Charting)

Next the soul entrant from Example on the chart…. And it would’ve bene higher, however it was released near the end of the year. I used to be a big Example fan around Kickstarts, Changed the Way You Kissed Me, Stay Awake etc and then things petered out slightly. However Do It So Well is a banger and return to form. It’s current peak is 3 and spent just 5 weeks on the Electro Chart, I guess it may do better overall in the 2020 EOY chart. Regardless the songs a bop.

109 = McFly // Touch the Rain = 164pts

Chart Run (17-13-14-17-21-18-26-38)

Peak = 13

Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks

Next the highest entrant from McFly’s ‘Lost Songs’ with Touch the Rain. The song had a bit of a yo-yo up and down the chart and in the end spent 5 weeks in the top 20 with a peak of 13 (not a massive fans of a number '13' peak, but there it is :D). However the song had quite a sharp decline down the chart and in the end masses 164pts in the 8 weeks on the chart.

108 = Foals // The Runner = 164pts

Chart Run (26-31-33-32-19-10-15-22-28-32-39)

Peak = 10

Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks

Up next and although tied point wise, this Is placed higher because I like it more – is The Runner by Foals. This realty should be higher as its an absolute tune, however there are two other Foals tracks in front of this; On the Luna and In Degrees. The Runner was released with the 2nd part of Foals album in 2019 and has gone on to be one of my faves of them. I’ve seen Foals live so many times and they never disappoint, each one of their albums is great too and distinct enough but keeping their own Foals-like sound too. Despite a peak of just 10, I return to this quite a fair bit.

107 = ROOKIES x New Hope Club // Paycheck = 167pts

Chart Run (06-12-17-25-30-27-25-31-34-36)

Peak = 6

Weeks on Chart = 10 Weeks

At 107 is the first of five appearance by New Hope Club with their song Paycheck. The Song itself had just 1 week in the top 10 and a total of 10 weeks on the Electro Chart. New Hope Club starting out as a band supporting the Vamps however seem to be relatively good social media support and can initially sell on i-tunes, however never end up charting due to streaming. They’re set to release their first album in 2020, so will be interesting to see how that does. Paycheck is ok, but far from their best.

106 = ZieZie ft Aitch // French Kisses = 168pts

Chart Run (22-12-15-11-11-07-X)

Peak = 7

Weeks on Chart = 6 Weeks (Still Charting)

The first of 4 appearance by Aitch next as French Kisses charts at 106 with just 6 weeks on the Electro Chart towards the end of 2019. I’m not one of rap/urban music however last year I did find myself liking Taste (Make it Shake) – why oh why?!? However it was just in my head, I then went on to like Strike a Pose, Buss Down and also this song which was released towards the end of 2019. Its still currently charting, so may well impact more in the 2020 EOY chart and may get a new peak. As it stands, 6 weeks on the Electro Chart with a peak of 7 after 6 weeks.

105 = Ariana Grande // Imagine = 171pts

Chart Run (X-07-07-13-18-27-29-26-34-37)

Peak = 5 (Peaked in 2018)

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks (In 2019)

Imagine a world like that… the first appearance of Ariana Grande next as a hang over from 2018 ends up at 105. Ariana I think is a bit oversaturated at the moment and a lot of her recent output hasn’t been the best. Imagine is ok, although I am surprised it’s managed to amass as many points as it has to chart here. It peaked at Number 5 in 2018 and went on to have a further 9 weeks in the 2019 chart. Which again is surprising as I don’t remember liking the song as much as the chart reflects :D

104 = Jonas Blue ft Theresa Rex // What I Like About You = 171pts

Chart Run (17-17-14-17-15-22-28-33-35)

Peak = 14

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks

At 104 is Jonas Blue who makes the first of 2 appearances in the Electro EOY chart. This is an alright song and peaked at 14, staying in the top for 5 weeks in total. I don’t have masses to say about this song; its kind of meh really and its not a song I really return to or probably ever will in any great detail.

103 = Mark Ronson ft Miley Cyrus // Nothing Breaks Like a Heart = 172pts

Chart Run (X-03-04-09-15-22-27-36-40)

Peak = 2 (Peaked in 2018)

Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks (in 2019)

Another hand over from 2018 next as Nothing Breaks Like a Heart comes in at 103 this year. The song was actually in the 2018 EOY chart as well at 121 where it has previously peaked at number 2. The song stayed for a further 8 weeks in 2019 including 3 weeks in the top 10. Nothing Breaks Like a Heart is a great song and one that I still return to. The song kicked off Mark Ronson’ album campaign and reached Number 2 officially too.

102 = Lewis Capaldi // Hold Me While You Wait = 173pts

Chart Run (14-18-16-18-20-25-28-30-33-37-39)

Peak = 14

Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks

The first of three Lewis Capaldi track to make the EOY chart as Hold Me While You Wait just misses out on a place in the top 100. The song peaked at 14 and spent 5 weeks in the top 20 and 11 weeks in total in the chart. The song never really took off in a big way for me and whilst was nice enough didn’t impact the same way as Someone You Loved did. I like Lewis though and he doesn’t take himself too seriously at all, saying that Someone You Loved still being top 40 officially if just silly.

101 = Tiesto x Mabel // God is a Dancer = 175pts

Chart Run (20-22-25-26-22-15-20-24-29-33-40)

Peak = 15

Weeks on Chart = 11 Weeks

Just missing out on the top 100 is Tiesto and Mabel a song which I had high hopes for a did hang around for 11 weeks, however it should’ve just been more of a bop. It’s a serviceable pop song, but the hook (for me) isn’t the best and given those involved just felt this should’ve been better. It peaked at 15 and spent just 3 weeks in the top 20. Mabel has a couple of other big songs still to come which we probably wont hear from for some time.

100 = Solardo ft Eli Brown // XTC = 176pts

Chart Run (04-05-07-12-19-29-36-40)

Peak = 4

Weeks on Chart = 8 Weeks

Kicking off the top 100 is a dance bop in the form of XTC. The song peaked at 4 and spent 3 weeks in the top, however just 8 weeks on the chart as it got old a bit quickly for me. An instant song though and one which I stumbled upon by accident, however it does enough in its 8 weeks to make the top 100.

99 = Oliver Heldens ft Devin & Nile Rodgers // Summer Lover = 177pts

Chart Run (06-07-10-16-21-25-29-38-40)

Peak = 6

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks

At 99 the first of 2 appearances by Oliver Heldens; this one is Summer Lover with Devin and Nile Rodgers which managed to notch up 3 weeks in the top 10. I remember really enjoying this at the time, however don’t think I’ve really come back to it at all despite it having 9 weeks on the chart…. Possibly, slightly a bit forgettable to be top 100.

98 = Louis Tomlinson // Two of Us = 178pts

Chart Run (03-12-17-19-21-20-26-34-39)

Peak = 3

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks

At 98, the first of two Louis Tomlinson songs to make the top 100, the other being Kill My Mind. Two of Us debuted in the top 3, however had just 1 week in the top 10 but a total of 5 weeks in the top 20. It then had a sharp fall down the chart before exiting. In terms of solo material, Louis is a little all over the place and I can’t see his forthcoming album really doing anything. However he has had a couple of good songs… so I guess you never know.

97 = FISHER // Losing It = 180pts

Chart Run (17-11-06-11-17-24-30-35-38)

Peak = 6

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks

Losing it makes it into the top 100 as FISHER chart next. Again another 1 week in the top 10, with a peak of 6 however a total of 5 weeks in the top 20. I got bored of this relatively quickly which is why it had some big drops on its exit from the chart. Its not really a song that I’ve returned to much either.

96 = Khalid // Better = 181pts

Chart Run (08-11-10-13-18-25-31-32-40)

Peak = 8

Weeks on Chart = 9 Weeks

The 2nd and highest entrant by Khalid now as Better charts at 96. I actually think I listened to this song more after it fell out of the chart, however it did manage 2 weeks in the top 10 and a peak of 8. Khalid seemed to be on everything in 2018 and had a much more quiet 2019… he can be a bit hit and miss, but do like Better.
