The wall is in progress, virtual peace with North Korea, hasn't started any wars. The economy is resurging after a blip or two. He brought a bit of life, comedy and humanity to the role of President.

The wall is a glorified fence being paid for entirely by him. Remember when Mexico were going to pay for it? Also it blew over in a breeze. If we are currently “at peace” with North Korea then we were before he became president too, all he has done is legitimise a dictatorship by giving him the attention and global footing her has always craved. NK are still proceeding with their nuclear tests almost unabated. Trumps economic growth and jobs creation was slower in 2017-2019 than it was under Obama in 2014-2016.

I’ll definitely give you that he brought “comedy” to the role, bu turning the role and himself into the biggest laughing stock on the planet.

Obama inherited an economy that had just tanked. He turned things around and passed on a booming economy. Trump sucked up to Kim Jing Un and various other dictators. He has been less keen on establishing good relations with leaders of democracies.

Why do you think comedy in a leader is a good thing? Trump's "comedy" stems from bigotry and incompetence.

What could have been.

sigh. if only. She would have made such a good president. A proper European centre-left style politician that we could really work with to accomplish things.

How come many millions of Americans still support Trump if he's the devil incarnate?

The implication being that you think Hitler had no support from the Germans?????

hasn't started any wars

you have no idea how many older generation russians said that years ago about Putin when he just started his reign of terror. fast forward a bit. we're balls deep in the Syrian war, have a f***ed up relationship with Latvia and virtually started a war with Ukraine. don't forget Kremlin sending people to Belarus to help with detaining and torturing protestors.

incredible 'achievement' that means shit all

also he basically started a war within HIS OWN COUNTRY. i mean come on, the divide couldn't be bigger and he's making it worse with every useless breath he takes and word he says
i go the supermarket weekly yet i don't punch anyone there no matter how annoying they are. this is called common sense, not an achievement worthy of a reelection

Hitler born in modern America would be a GOP politician. Trump born in early 20th century Germany would have joined the Nazi party. Their methods are similar, adapted for their time periods, and we should not need to wait until it is too late to call the current one out. Or, if you have the opportunity, vote him out.

I'll keep saying this until people get it. Hitler was evil, but he was not UNIQUELY evil. I don't see how you could ever believe that that's the case. Another leader hungry for power and a believer in their own superiority can and will do evil things just the same, and we need to constantly be on the watch for it. A large number of actions Trump makes, signalling to the Proud Boys, threatening to steal the election, dogwhistling against Mexicans and Muslims, are very good indicators of the same thing, fascism.

Making sure all presidents get 8 years is nonsense. If so, why have an election every 4 years? There is plenty of time to enact some of your agenda in 4 years, and Trump's already had a very good shot at changing American culture, for the worst, in the four years so far.

Too many people took the lesson from Nazi Germany "uniquely don't mistreat Jews, but all other minorities are up for grabs"

As for Trump, fingers crossed everything comes crashing down for him, not just in the Presidency, but just generally in his life. Whole family behind bars would be ideal. But personally I suspect he'll have a heart attack or suspiciously come to a sticky end quite soon after losing the election before he can blab about all of his very special friends.

There was one true moment in that debate from Trump when he said that the reason he (and other wealthy people) get away with paying less tax is because of the tax laws that the Democrats brought in. Bernie Sanders would have had a stronger attack line on that than Biden and nullified Trump's retort "but why didn't you do it over the last 25 years". Even though it obviously ignores the fact that the Republicans are even more generous to the wealthy in this respect, it does rather make the point that the neoliberalism that has dominated globally in US and UK since the 1980s is ultimately now responsible for this growth of populism and that the only way to defeat it is take a left-wing stance.
So Trump and Melania have tested positive for COVID, allegedly. It seems obvious now that this would happen 4 weeks from the election, so I have to respect the virus for being so well timed.

I just can’t WAIT for him to get out of this alive (Bolsonaro did after all) and brag about it the entire remaining time.

Regardless of the election let's hope they both get through it and are better soon.

Does anyone have any proof? Can it just be a ploy for sympathy? I would trust a complete stranger in the street over him at any given point in time.
