The video feels totally flat, like a really bad green screen. But I do like it, it’s fun and colourful and suits the song

And yet a green screen wasn't used!

Lady Gaga has always been a bit left field with her career and she's always been doing things slightly different to everyone else. Gaga filming the video on the iPhone is very 'Gaga' and I'm sure this is one of the first proper music videos to be filmed on a phone?
Stupid Love is still safely at #2 in the midweeks. I don't want to jump the gun, but it looks safe (i think?) for a top 5 debut.

#3 is 600 copies away, guess she will be #3 on Tuesday's Midweek chart and eventually end up at #5.

So I’ve let this settle for a day or two but I’m definitely on board! I’d prefer a proper chorus but I can see why this is working for her. Really loving the production

I would have preferred a proper chorus too, although the pre-chorus is so strong that it doesn't bother me as much as it usually would.

The 'all I ever wanted was love' hook is such a dream

The chorus is the weakest part of the song for sure. I've been trying to get my head around it and I guess its simplicity aids a full listen of the song in which SO MUCH is going on. The chorus is a bit of respite? A full blown complex chorus may have led the song to getting criticism that many ARTPOP tracks got - too manic.

It's genius how damn catchy the whole thing is though. It's annoyingly JAMMED in my head constantly.

This song SLAPS. It is really catchy and the, All I ever wanted was ya lyyeriiarrv, hook is as infectious as Corona beer!!! I love it. It NEEDS radio 1 support to be a big hit. If tik tok people could meme it, that would help, too.

It's not growing on me. I'm disappointed that it isn't. I just feel really neutral about it. However, I'm ecstatic at how well it's doing coz she deserves it & it shows people are invested and want Pop-ga back (as well as the fact it's rare nowadays for a pop song like this to smash right off the bat).

Basically, I'll bop if it comes on but won't venture too much out of my way to play it myself/have no urges to go back to it, but I am ready for this new album.

EVERY era I'm guaranteed at least one or two tracks that excel well beyond my expectations (and it's never the lead single tbh - except Bad Romance - which is kinda 5th single so... lol)

Plenty of videos and even movies and series were shot on a phone before, she's not making history. But who's to say it won't start a trend..
