Posted January 28, 20205 yr Welcome to Battle of the Canadians - the first artist crossover event in the Shawn Mendes forum! We've handpicked four of the biggest names in music, hailing from Canada like Shawn, to feature in a number of battle rounds to determine who the best of the lot is! Similar to Battle of the Boybands in the One Direction forum, there will be a series of polls where Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Avril Lavigne and Drake will battle for your affections. Only one artist can win each round, and an overall winner will be crowned at the end of the event based on how many polls they've won! For Round Seven, we're looking at the songs that each artist released, but it fell on its arse and flopped. Maybe not a massive flop, maybe one of their biggest flops, maybe an unexpected flop in the eyes of the label or the public, but a flop nonetheless. Smile scores Avril 46.15% of the vote. Carly Rae Jepsen isn't far behind her though, with 5 votes for This Kiss. Something Big wasn't quite as big as the song might suggest, and is one of Shawn's lowest charting singles to date, but it managed to pick up two votes. U Smile and Miss Me by Justin Bieber and Drake, respectively, didn't get any votes and land in joint last place. Round Eight will be up shortly!
