February 23, 20232 yr Sovereignty is still hugely important and even more so in a globalised world. I can tell you as an Irish man who’s country has been dictated to by English MPs at Westminster for hundreds of years. There is a difference between being part of the EU and being part of the UK.
February 23, 20232 yr Sovereignty is still hugely important and even more so in a globalised world. I can tell you as an Irish man who’s country has been dictated to by English MPs at Westminster for hundreds of years. And yet, all we are doing is COOPERATING. That's it.
February 23, 20232 yr Good to see liberal MP Margaret Hodge jumping on the opportunistic bandwagon to blame brexit to fit her political ideology She's a Labour MP and has done no such thing. You got her gender right so you're not completely wrong.
February 23, 20232 yr Good to see liberal MP Margaret Hodge jumping on the opportunistic bandwagon to blame brexit to fit her political ideology Brexshit is to blame. Sorry it doesn't fit YOUR ideology
February 23, 20232 yr There is a difference between being part of the EU and being part of the UK. Of course but I think sovereignty closer to home is much better for a nation than a distant parliament which knows little for the country it’s rules apply to.
February 23, 20232 yr She's a Labour MP and has done no such thing. You got her gender right so you're not completely wrong. I knows she’s Labour - it was tongue in check with regards to her actual ideology.
February 23, 20232 yr Brexshit is to blame. Sorry it doesn't fit YOUR ideology  Nope it doesn’t fit but my point is the issue with supply of vegetables this late winter has been with weather, geography and supply chains. Even Alex Thomson on the ch4 news described it as such last nyt hardly a channel known for its pro brexit views.
February 23, 20232 yr Of course but I think sovereignty closer to home is much better for a nation than a distant parliament which knows little for the country it’s rules apply to. You are a rule maker or a rule taker. The countries that can ERXSRCISE FULL, UNFETTERED SOVEREIGNTY, ARE THE BIG PLSYERS. THAT IS IT.
February 24, 20232 yr Anyway Therese Coffey says to eat turnips and other root veg instead. So when you order a nice salad in a cafe don't forgot to say "don't forget the turnip" :D
February 25, 20232 yr Anyway Therese Coffey says to eat turnips and other root veg instead. So when you order a nice salad in a cafe don't forgot to say "don't forget the turnip" :D Good to see the people running our country on the ball with solutions as ever.
February 25, 20232 yr Didn't see "Let's eat more turnips instead!" on the side of a big red bus  If the bus had been truthful instead of lies, it would have been longer than a tube train to state all the ‘wins’ 🥴
February 27, 20232 yr Can't say I understand much about this new NI protocol, but I'm assuming it's a good deal. Does seem weird the EU have caved on a few issues, but I suspect the 'wider' negotiation style under Sunak is softer and maybe the EU is working on the basis that it's a different pair of hands in charge of the party and a possible Labour government too. I'm sure the DUP will vote the deal down, as will the ultras in the ERG, but looks like this bill will pass.
February 27, 20232 yr I reckon the EU is sticking the boot i to Blojo the Clown and gettin rid of him politically forever! The deal is far more sensible than whatever shite Blojob trotted out.
February 27, 20232 yr Again I don't know the detail (of course ANY Brexit is crap compared to Remain) but the optics are that Sunak has done a goodish deal which has rebuilt some bridges with the EU. Seems to have struck the loathsome Johnson quiet for now and I think few I'm the country will want him to sabotage it. He's nowhere near as popular and this ultra hard Brexit crap hasn't really got a market anymore. I don't think this is going to help Sunak/ Tories much.. Labour polling is consistently too strong. I think that Starmer's hard man, competent but not offering anything to the left or minorities act is working well with the country. That's as good as it's going to get.
February 27, 20232 yr Starmer will want the brexit issue gone before the election too so it’s win win, in fact the tories would politically be better keeping it going. The fact that Steve Baker has endorsed it from his position in the NI office shows the ERG will likely be happy apart from a few mentalists. It’s the best they will get and they can sell it. The DUP will be under huge pressure in terms of their positioning, they are between the majority of the NI public and the reps in Stormont to go back into government due to the economic crisis and the right of their community who will stand for nothing less than a hard border in Ireland. They also would be happy with direct rule than return to stormont under a SF Prime Minister.
February 28, 20232 yr Sunak has been boasting that Northern Ireland has something no other country has - easy access to the UK market and the EU single market. Perhaps he would like to explain why the rest of the UK no longer has the same privilege.
