Melanie is releasing an acoustic solo version of Too Much tomorrow! :o

The artwork being the same colours that were used for the Spice Girls Too Much singles is a nice touch!

Niceeeeee :cheer: She always does this song really well live solo

I'm sure this will be nice as she does a great job of it. Interesting she would mix Spice Girls with her solo career to this extent.

It feels a little contrived to help her streaming especially during the summer if the girls are together doing something for the 25th anniversary. But hey Emma adding that awful 2 become 1 cover to My happy place before the Spice Girls tour was exactly the same ploy.

Wonder if she will do anymore Spice Girls covers, I'd like to hear a solo Viva Forever and Stop.

The Never Be The Same acoustic is really good, that random male voice partway through threw me off a bit as I was just expecting Mel to be singing

I’m listening to Too Much now which is really good as well.

I’m gonna have to check out all of these acoustic tracks as I’ve enjoyed all that I’ve heard so far.

I'm a little late to the game here, but her self-titled album is pretty incredible. Probably her most cohesive body of work, and very clear vibe throughout the whole record. Her vocals in the acoustic takes are also really really strong.

What are your favorite tracks on the album? My top 5 would be Who I Am, Nowhere To Run, Blame It On Me, End of Everything and Into You.

End Of Everything is the kid of Goodbye and Let Love Lead The Way. In a parallel universe it was a Forever track with vocals by Mel C, B, Emma and Vicky B.

That's a tough question! I'd say, my #1 is Into You. All of the other tracks are tied for second place. : )

A new release is planned , is it touch me?

Probably releasing a new song like she promised, or a new delux version of the album?

Classic Mel C/solo Spice to focus on solo shit in the middle of group work. Tedious, im bored already..

I’m shocked. Out of respect, I won’t say anything.

^ not digitally

Out by of the blue, like that? I bet - if that’s the case - the new songs are for the reissue. Wouldn’t mind a video. I miss Melanie, she really has been a great companion during the pandemic last year.

EDIT: if you look carefully, it says Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer. So it’s 100% digital. I wasn’t expecting anything from Mel 😂❤️

I highly doubt it is Mel stopping them from doing stuff to promote, her and Emma are the only two who even bothered to share the Spice 25 video.

I'd rather have new music from any of the girls than a re-release of an album with stuff we already anyway.

It's funny you say "solo shit" when honestly... 'shit' is the way the group treats us by giving us crumbs every 10 years. At least Melanie C is the one who has credibility and a decent music career!

And btw, "group work" ? Seriously? So you call group work a poor advertisement to make money on old music and leaked demos?

If someone had said the same for Emma, now he would be fuming. I’m not Emma’s biggest fan, but I’d never say to her, same for Geri. The girls have the right to do what they like.

Melanie C is all about passion. She’s supportive of the Spice Girls and still she continues with her own small projects. Small but satisfying. Life isn’t all about big numbers, chart success and all that (and she already had all of that).

Kudos to Mel to do both things. We can’t say she’s lazy Spice....

My words across this forum have been very clear that I am not happy with how the group has been handling this either. That's part of the problem.

The 'solo shit' is just a way of speaking, my way of speaking, and I apologise if it created any offense. The sentiment still stands, like it did when I criticised Emma for releasing solo music around the tour in 2019 AND a book this year instead of focusing on the group too.

That's just my opinion. I would rather not get any solo efforts at all if it meant they would release music, focus on the releases of the group and genuinely submerged themselves in Spice Girls stuff.

Yes, the four seem more dedicated than they did in the past 20 years, but thats not the issue. This particular release, like Emma's in 2019, seems strategic right in the middle of releasing group things, which they had been preparing for since early this year or even last year. It's all calculated.

Anyway, rant over!
