Yes I would love those sales to be albums but kylie knows how to diversify just like any good business person, the wine is a great income for her.

Id say initial sales were fueled by fans but then with good reviews it picked up sales from people who didn't link it to kylie the singer and were buying it purely as they liked the taste.

They must have real confidence in the product and brand to be taking it to the States, I lived there for several years and it is a notoriously difficult market for alcohol.

Each state has their own rules for alcohol retail sales and tax, also if the product travels through the US it pays sales tax on the states it passes through meaning that at its final destination it will have a higher price tag to cover the costs.

Will be interesting to see how it does and I would love to see it succeed - I guess it could become a product that they only sell and market in certain states which happens a lot over there.

Ya I agree, it's a hard market to conquer so they really must have great faith in it so hopefully it pays off.
I bought the Prosecco Rose the other day... I'm saving it for my birthday! (23rd Feb) so I'm looking forward to trying it. Love the bottle design!

I'm assuming it'll have a limited launch in certain states/cities to begin with and then take it from there.

Yes with the complications of the US market I can see them focusing on certain states in either the East or West coast rather than a full launch, then offer independent distributors to pick up the product/cost if they want to market it in other states which is what usually seems to happen.

What did you think of it Jay? I bought a bottle yesterday to have over Easter, love the bottle too.

Bought my first Kylie wine bottle in Sainsbury’s…they must have added it in recently never seen it before.

Prosecco Rose…will try it next weekend I think.

I used to work in the wine trade so I’ll be carefully tasting it.

Amazing success

Where the wild rosés grow: Kylie Minogue’s pink fizz is the UK’s biggest seller

Kylie Minogue’s blush-coloured prosecco generated £7.7 million of sales, a third more than its nearest rival

Kylie Minogue is an unlikely figure to change the landscape of wine drinking in Britain.

Two years after launching her range, the Australian singer’s £12 pink fizz has become the UK’s top-selling branded prosecco rosé — this despite Minogue admitting she knows little about vinification and spent her youth drinking Lambrusco.
