Posted April 9, 20205 yr Which iPods did you have and how many songs could fit on them? My first iPod was a green iPod Mini in the photo attached and then everyone was getting the Nanos afterwards! I think I had about 1500 songs on there? I remember just putting every and any single that was in my family’s shared library on there and any song I was even vaguely aware of :kink: I then moved onto the iPod Touch and have had an iPhone ever since! I actually really miss the iconic wheel though although the iPod minis do feel extremely basic with today’s technology!
April 9, 20205 yr I still have an iPod Touch just cos I had so much music it took up too much storage space on my phone! Obviously can't beat the classic iPod shuffle though, I think I got one in like 2006 and switched to an iPhone when I got that. I did prefer initially having the phone and iPod in one, but I'm glad to have both now as it's making me quite nostalgic <3
April 9, 20205 yr Author I never got the appeal for a Shuffle as I’m someone who like needs to control what they’re listening to! Even when I use shuffle I always look at whats up next haha
April 9, 20205 yr I still have my iPod Touch 4 / 64GB. The home button is not working so i have it on display instead lmao. I also used to take pictures on it up until like 3 years ago when I first got a smartphone with a camera <3 I still have a lot of music there. That's the first 'big' thing I bought using my own money back in like 2011. good times.
April 9, 20205 yr Author I got an iPhone 4 and that’s actually still my favourite design of the iPhones/touch I’m sure the selling point of the third generation of Touchs/phones was that you could cut copy and paste 😂
April 9, 20205 yr I had an iPod Classic and I actually high key miss it :') it lasted me until a couple of years ago! Had a pretty good life. Not really worth the investment to get another iPod at this point unfortunately when Spotify's around.
April 9, 20205 yr I had one of the iPods in the OP (a silver one) a long time ago, can't remember how many songs I could play on it but I loved the little minigames it came with, especially Brick which I was obsessed with too much  I then had two iPod touches, the second of which basically fit my entire iTunes library on so I used that in parallel with my phone basically until I got Spotify. It's probably still in my family kitchen somewhere!
April 9, 20205 yr I had an iPod shuffle and then upgraded to an iPod touch  I actually low key miss the shuffle just for the nostalgia of it, but I only use Spotify now so no point getting one just for the nostalgia now :kink:
April 9, 20205 yr Author I want to dig out my iPod (if it works, I remember the screen essentially becoming unreadable!!) and just put it on shuffle to see how bad my music taste was It’s like a modern day time capsule
April 9, 20205 yr omg I had a green ipod too! I switched to an ipod touch relatively soon though as I dropped my Mini and it decided to making a beeping sound, have a green screen and act like it was gonna explode. Bitch i RAN
April 9, 20205 yr My first iPod was a gift from my brother in 2006, I think it was one of the first generations...it looked like below iirc Then in 2009 I bought the third generation and I think I still have it somewhere!!!
April 10, 20205 yr I have an iPod Nano and an iPod Shuffle, both from 2007, and I still use them! Naturally I ran out of space on them ages ago so I'm occasionally deleting old songs and adding newer ones. I've been meaning to get an iPod Touch before they stop making them entirely (can't be much longer surely?), hopefully I will as soon as the stores open back up!
April 10, 20205 yr I got a nano for my 18th birthday in 2006 which was kind of late to the party as I still loved physical media. I still do. I do have an iPod that I still use as I’ve never got used to having music on my phone.
April 10, 20205 yr This was my first ever iPod! I got it for my 10th birthday back in 2007 and I was in awe. I remember getting Now 67 that summer too so that went straight on there. I later got a pink 4th generation iPod (I'd like to say the following Christmas?) and my final one was a pink iPod touch!
April 10, 20205 yr I still use an iPod Touch and have the latest model (2019)! It's smaller and lighter than my phone which makes it easier for my small hands and easier to fit into my pocket. When I go for a walk I often prefer to leave my phone at home and just listen to my music library/podcasts on my iPod. Edited April 10, 20205 yr by Catherine91
April 11, 20205 yr iPod classic 160GB! Heavy use for years, I still have it and it still works (not charged tho), last used it probably only just over a year ago I think. The headphone slot is a bit knackered- kind of works but only in one ear unless you hold it in a specific way, or stuff aluminium foil down it  - but I got an adaptor from the charging port with a volume control. It took me a long time to switch to streaming, I think late 2017, early 18 and still sometimes used it afterwards, just got annoying not being able to add new songs on to it if they were Apple Music files. Still try to buy vinyls and merch etc if I want to support an artist enough. I had/ have so much music I filled that 160GB completely after a few years (I used to love it because I could fit my entire library on it, hated having to pick what to leave off but still love that thing x). Tbf tho I think I first got it in 2012. :kink: But 00s tech!!1!!!1!!
