Hi guys

 

I haven't hosted a quiz for a while (and never on Buzzjack) so go easy on me! Here are segments of 40 different album covers, and as an added clue, every one of these albums reached number one in the UK*. All you have to do is name the artist and the album. You get 1 point for correct artist and 1 point for correct album, so it's worth answering even if you just know the artist.

 

I did a similar round for a pub quiz me and my team hosted last year which I was going to use but as this is Buzzjack I decided to re-write it to make it harder! That said, I've tried to find a good balance between well-known and obscure, between different genres and different decades - I'd be absolutely gobsmacked if anyone got every single one but I'm sure that there's lots people will get.

 

*However, there is one little twist... I said above that every album got to number one, but actually there's one that didn't (it only made number two). You get a bonus 5 points if you can identify the 'red herring' (either by number or by artist/title so worth a guess).

 

Here are some clues, not sure how helpful they'll be though:

11 of them are from the 2010s

11 of them are from the 2000s

10 of them are from the 90s

4 of them are from the 80s

4 of them are from pre-1980

 

When you PM me your answers it's probably easiest to number them from left to right and then down each row (so the first row is 1-5, next row is 6-10 etc.)

 

I'll accept answers until midnight Sat 18th and I'll announce the results and answers on Sunday 19th.

I only know a few, some I recognise from my own collection, there is one that sticks out like a sore thumb :D

Good to see all eras represented on an album cover puzzle. There are a few on here that I own a copy of.

I actually own quite a bunch of those

but still some don't ring a bell and it's gonna be hard if they're from the 70s or 80s

Some I got straight away while others are taking a while and a long stare. :lol:

Managed to get the vast majority of these now with some digging around! Hopefully will manage a full set in the next few days!!

On first pass I've got 38 artists and about 32 titles, so I'll have another look/think in a day or two.

Entered! I knew quite a few of these and after staring at them for over an hour I figured some more out :lol:

Entered, some good variety in there!

Will give this a go later, know quite a few on first look!

This is going well. I feel like I've got quite a few of them (including the album that missed #1). I'm sure I've missed some really obvious older ones because my knowledge is much better on the newer albums.

 

I didn't know what album #9 was but I'm ashamed to say I somehow recognised who is in the picture and have now got it off of that :lol:

I’ve got quite a few will take a proper look while on my computer later.

Up to 15 so far which I'm satisfied with but I want to work a couple more out before sending answers as there are a couple I'm sure I recognise but can't quite place - #3 and #24 especially have been really bugging me

I’m convinced I own one of these albums yet I can’t for the life of me work out what it is.

 

The first album on the 6th row is the one what’s bugging me.

 

I definitely recognise a few though so I shall enter :D
