April 19, 20205 yr Thank you for hosting this! I knew that this wasn’t going to be one of my strong quizzes!
April 19, 20205 yr Happy with 4th! Also not at all ashamed to have not remembered the Jahméne album!
April 19, 20205 yr I probably should have checked all the chart positions of my answers as then I would have gotten the extra 5 points for overexposed but ah well. Good round Mango! Nice for an album cover quiz to not be ridiculously hard/niche for once :D
April 19, 20205 yr Thanks for hosting this M4NGO! Really enjoyed it :D And well done Gezza and Bjork!
April 19, 20205 yr Doing the chart show and all the "Best selling albums of" threads historically really helped me, although I would never have got the Maroon 5 had you not left "ON5" in the snip for the odd one out album and I guessed the rest! :D Thanks for hosting
April 19, 20205 yr 45 points! Low key happy with my result tbh. I’m glad I got Paloma Faiths and the bonus question too. Thanks for hosting. The orange cover which is Garbage I always say Frank Ocean Channel Orange! Definitely hopefully remembering that one now.
April 20, 20205 yr Wow, that was more competitive than I thought it would be. :o Congrats to the winners! And thanks Mango for hosting, I enjoyed having a fairly easy quiz this week and especially the #1s theme (and that my embarrassing wrong guesses were not revealed :kink:)! Aside - I'm shocked that a Jahmene Douglas album managed to be #1 and I forgot that long-awaited Dr. Dre album ever happened! For the Hear'Say album, it was actually the letters that gave it away for me, not the face. I'd never seen a Hear'Say album cover in my life but could just barely make out the "ay" in the clip and it just had an early-2000s look to it
April 20, 20205 yr I didn't know Paolo Nutini was Scottish ! I'm kinda shocked I didn't get the Robbie Williams one tbh Thanks for hosting Mango!
April 20, 20205 yr Oh wow Spotify messed me up on 'The Marshall Mathers LP' too - I wrote "The Marshall Mathers LP2? (it looks very similar but with different trees)", so I knew LP2 wasn't quite right (unless it had some alternate version), but neither of the LP1 covers on Spotify were the right one (and I've always been used to the alternate one). I forgot that one existed. I thought Paloma's cover looked like something like Little Boots or Ellie Goulding (but neither of them) and even looked through the list of #1s circa 2009-2010, but I was 7 years off. Kings Of Leon is another one where I'm more used to a different cover (the white background one), but I've always known of the green one too and it's very recognisable. That Jahméne cover made me think of Drake's 'Take Care' a little - totally off the mark :P Florence was a tricky crop! Could not figure out what was going on in that image. Thanks for doing this!
April 20, 20205 yr I really thought that the Fleetwood Mac album was Shakira !! Was so confident I didn’t even check!!
April 20, 20205 yr The ones I didn't get: Def Leppard Peter Andre Dr Dre Jahmene Douglas Deep Purple Garbage So would have been 34/40 had I submitted. Edited April 20, 20205 yr by Spiceboy
April 20, 20205 yr Thanks for hosting, Mango! The only one I'm annoyed not to get is Kings of Leon. I initially thought it was someone like James Morrison or James Blunt, then moved onto thinking it was a band like The Killers or Nirvana (which aren't too far off compared to the James', and whilst knowing it wasn't The Killers due to them already featuring) I appreciate the McFly stanning, I remember buying the album whilst on holiday somewhere (I want to say during my many visits to the Isle of Wight) and for me it was one of the easiest in the quiz, one that I spotted immediately, and now I feel quite proud as I didn't expect it to have less than 50% correct answers :P
