2nd Justin Timberlake - Lovestoned / I Think She Knows 12/34 Votes (35%)

'My Happy Ending' takes the win for Avril, it's the second time the Canadian Superstar has won a Survivor after 'When You're Gone'. It's the second single to be taken from Avril's second album Under My Skin. She had wanted the track to be the lead single but the label went for 'Don't Tell Me'. Both of these two singles peaked at 5 over here. In the video Avril is shown in the cinema watching scenes of her ex boyfriend.

In second place and coming off the back of the mammoth hits such as 'Sexyback', 'My Love' and 'What Goes Around, Comes Around'... Justin released 4th single from FutureSex/LoveSounds; 'Lovestoned / I Think She Knows' in the summer of 2007 which ultimately missed the top 10. The video was filmed in Salford UK.

Andreas remains a one hit wonder as his follow up single 'The Games We Played' peaked at 41.

Also Swedish are rock band Caesars who's hit song 'Jerk It Out' lands in runner up. It was another case of an act being a one hit wonder and the song originally was released in 2003 but made no real impact before being re-issued in 2005 and peaking within the top 10 at 8. The track has been used in a multitude of adverts for the likes of iPod shuffle, Coca Cola, PlayStation games like Rock Band, FIFA Football and Samba de Amigo as well as usage in films like Pink Panther and Deuce Bigalo, American Gigalo in addition to shows like Dawsons Creek, Teachers and NCIS to name but a few.

Initially released by the label Drowned In Sound, 'Oh My God' first charted in 2004 but only peaked at number 66 before it got re-released two weeks before Kaiser Chief's debut album Employment came out in early 2005 and landed inside the top 10 at 6. It was their highest charting single until 'Ruby' came along in 2007 and gave them their first chart topper. Becoming the unfortunate bridesmaid once again in these survivors (More Than... also came 2nd in it's survivor) is the late Aaliyah with her 2000 hit 'Try Again' which she explained was about encouraging a potential partner not to give up when she initially rejects his advances. Hit machine Timbaland was a vital part of Aaliyah's career, writing the track along with Static Major and even appears in the classic video.

Thanks to a chart renaissance of sorts in 'With Every Heartbeat' topping the UK chart in the summer of 2007, Robyn released 'Be Mine' in the UK as the third single from her 4th studio album which is named also as Robyn but in Scandinavia was the lead single back in April 2005 where Pitchfork listed it among the top 50 songs of that year. 'Be Mine' charted in the UK at 10 in January of 2008. Robyn convincingly wins over it's rivals here being the big forum favourite!

Just like in the charts over here, No Doubt land up in 2nd place with the dancehall fused track 'Hey Baby'. The lyrics tell of debauchery at groupies from the parties they held on their tour. At the 45th Grammy's the band won the Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

British Electronic group Hot Chip were ready to sweep the win here as their 2008 #6 hit 'Ready For The Floor' beats out the megastar Lady Gaga. The lyric 'You're My Number One Guy' comes from the influence of it being said in the first Tim Burton remake of the Batman movie and Alexis Taylor can be seen in the video alternating between a mild mannered tech wiz and The Joker. Some articles falsely claimed that Hot Chip were going to give Kylie Minogue this song but this was dismissed as they hadn't got in contact with Kylie to work on anything although they did say they'd consider handing her this track if it was to happen as it sounded the most suitable.

and the aforementioned Lady Gaga is runner up with 'LoveGame', the fourth release in the UK from The Fame which peaked at 19. Lyrically about a sexual attraction to a stranger in a club. For the music video it takes on the inspiration of the video for Michael Jackson's 'Bad' with Gaga donning Nazi Chic clothes. It was banned at the PG rated time slots on the music channels in Australia because of it's sexual content.

The Killers take the win here with 'Somebody Told Me' on 20 of 29 votes... it's the 2nd single from Hot Fuss which is about meeting someone at a club. It was released in 2004 and charted at #28 before being re-issued the following year and handing the band their first top 3 hit in the process. It's been nominated for two Grammy's as well as for the International Dance Music Awards. It was ranked 4th best track of 04 by Triple J. "The video has the band performing their song in the moonlight of a desert location, with a giant LED screen displaying scrolling characters and flashing images of their logo. The imagery in the video pays homage to that of "Crystal" by English alternative dance group New Order; the Killers named themselves after the fictitious band performing in the New Order video"

The sister of Daniel, Natasha Bedingfield lands 2nd with 'Unwritten' which charted at 6 in 2004 and then last year saw a chart revival thanks to inclusion in the film Anyone But You. It's been featured in episodes of others shows like Ugly Betty and Pretty Little Liars and was part of the UEFA Euro 2004 montage clips which saw England lose to Portugal.

Hailing from Battle East Sussex is alternative rock band Keane who take the win in a very nail-bitingly close battle picking up 16 votes with their second straight top 5 hit in 'Everybody's Changing' peaking at 4 in 2004. It was released however first on another label called Fierce Panda where it had charted at 122 a year earlier. The song had 3 different videos shot for it and it had been composed back in 2001 by Tim Rice-Oxley after the guitarist Dominic Scott quit the band. It can be heard in the final moments from episodes of the likes of One Tree Hill and Scrubs and in 2006 was rated 79th greatest song of all time by The Sun.
