Still a great debut effort packed with wall to wall of brilliant cheesy pop gems. The singles are by far the best & strongest moments here & sure its far from being her best body of work, but everybody has to start someone. So this is a rather decent starting point.

My ranking

01. I Should Be So Lucky
02. Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi
03. Got To Be Certain
04. Turn It Into Love
05. The Loco-Motion
06. It's No Secret
07. I'll Still Be Loving You
08. Look My Way
09. Love At First Sight
10. I Miss You

If 'Made In Heaven' was included then it would be at #5 & other the bonus b-sides 'Glad To Be Alive' & 'Getting Closer' would of course be at the bottom.

Can we expect some socials from Kylie to mark its birthday.

It would attract a couple of sales.

SA used to be a relatively big market for Kylie in the early days.

So incredible seeing Kylie’s social media posts about the 35th anniversary whilst she is still here and still relevant and riding the wave of a current hit single - amazing times

I agree, what great way the anniversary has fallen seeing she is top 10 in the singles. She really has continued to defy her critics over and over again.

Still love this album and listen to it - part of it is due to the nostalgia associated with the time.

Just gave it a full play through (rate below) - what a perfect debut for that time period

It is both hugely nostalgic and good, it's an uplifting album that I enjoy listening to and also brings back great memories, at times when i listen to it I can be back right in the zone of been a kid again for that split second.

It's a fun 80s pop album that I enjoy when I listen to it, I just don't tend to revisit it that much and would chose nearly all of her other albums to listen to over it. That said, to be one of her lower ranking albums just shows the high standard of her discography!

I'd have loved 'Made in Heaven' on this album, would easily be Top 3 for me. I could put 'Especially for You' in there too in place of the last two songs on my rank.

I really still love this album. Top 2’s are Turn it into love and then GTBC. How TIIL wasn’t a single (outside of Japan) is a shocker. They could’ve easily released it as single #5 and THEN EFY. Or even overlapping.

Funnily I think other K albums like BL and KMO have dated more than this.

I have suchhhhhhh fond memories of this period - Neighbours. Kylie mania, her innocent “deer in the headlights” interview appearances on British tv, etc

So easy to see why other Aussie stars like Jason, Natalie, even dannii all emigrated to the uk but the uk never quite adopted anyone the way they adopted K.
