I’ll be fuming if this is midweek #5 all week and then Ed Sheeran knocks her out at the final moment :drama: While I know #6 would still be incredible, it would be infuriating to come so close to being Top 5 and then not making it due to a highly streamed album <_<

The full paragraph from SayHey: “IP is still at 5 although the gap is now closing. Kylie with 6123 sold, A-Ha at 6 on 4481, Carly 3362, 1975 3155, Ed Sheeran coming back as always with 2938 at 10, Harry Styles climbing quickly at 12 with 2723.”

Ed sold 6,482 to be #4 last week. No idea if this week he’s set to have his sales fall or increase this week. We don’t really have enough data for comparisons. Last Wednesday midweeks his sales were 4,182, this Tuesday midweek it’s 2,938.

Aha look like they’ll pass IP….it’s a new album and I’m sure they’ll be promoting it harder.

A-ha have reduced their download to £4.99 via their website and The 1975 seem to be pushing streaming on their socials.

Not convinced a-ha will overtake - they would have been front loaded too and are still 1,642 behind.

I currently feel less concerned about Harry because he did 5,995 sales all of last week, whereas Kylie's already passed that this week (6,123 in 4 days). So it really rests on whether Harry performs more strongly this week than he did last week. If only we knew what Ed and Harry sales were like in the Tuesday 18th October midweeks, that would help give us a better idea.

Great to see IP clearly over 6k, i wonder how close it can come to 7k now, i dont think Aha will overtake her but with them doing reductions etc. they are chasing to go as high as they can in the chart. While i would absolutely love to see IP staying top 5 its not something ive allowed myself to think will happen, in my head im expecting number 7 or 8 but once its 9 or higher im happy. As others have said if it was released last week she would have a very safe top 5.

Have Simple Minds pulled further ahead of Kylie or has Kylie closed the gap in any way?

Thought they added over 1k on Monday’s midweek? Or am I mistaken?

I think she will hold top 5 now.....

I think BMG have it under control .....

I think we will see signed vinyl either this week if needed or kept back and sold the week when the other picture discs are dispatched.

Its an easy way to get rid of unwanted stock ....

Update from SayHey from a user below:

Kylie remains at 5 in the UK with 6209 sales, A-Ha at 6 with 4808, Dry Cleaning with 4032, 1975 with 4019, Ed Sheeran at 9 with 3832 and Harry Styles has popped back into the Ten as he always does with 3555. Carly Rae has departed the Top Ten.

That gives me slightly more faith that Kylie could remain ahead of Ed!

Ed Sheeran:

Wed 19th Oct midweek sales: 4,182

Wed 26th Oct midweek sales: 3,832

(-350 sales / -8.37%, comparatively)

Fri 21st Oct official sales: 6,482 (which was +2,300 sales since Wednesday 21st Oct midweek)

Theoretical Fri 28th sales: 5,939 (if it’s -8.37% down on Fri 21st Oct)

or: 6,132 (if it increases by 2,300 sales, like it did last week between Wed mid & Fri chart)

Current Kylie sales in Wed mids: 6,209 (I’m guessing it’ll end up on less than 6,400)

What an outcome for Kylie - a 25 year old album selling for £25+ on vinyl and challenging for a Top 5 placement :cheer:

Also from SayHey -

#19 in the German midweeks, it reached #78 on original release.

Was in Birmingham Bullring HMV earlier…very busy guess because it’s half term….about ten copies of the Orange Vinyl for £27.99…..could only find one marble (£31.99)….most of the entry displays were set aside for Taylor and Arctics so it took a bit of a hunt to find IP….most copies were in a new release vinyl section half way in the store.

I can't believe this could actually be reaching Top 5!! :o Absolutely thrilled at the thought. Coming to out-peak 'Rhythm of Love' and 'Body Language'.
