#IP24 @kylieminogue - There was so much going on with this record @daveseamandj @alanbremner and I relied on this somewhat scruffy big piece of paper that pretty much lived at @realworldstudios with us. The one song here from the original 10 track album we submitted is missing is 'Stay This Way" which was recorded in one take at our own studio.

 

And of course these were the ones that made it to final mix and master. Along the way there were some beautiful moments that didn't quite fulfil their potential including a gorgeous song by @nickcaveofficial called "Soon", a really lovely mid tempo called "Floating" and of course "Free" which was performed during her "Intimate And Live" shows.

 

We also worked out the bones of "Too Far" around the piano at @sarmstudios and recorded all of the strings there with the maestro #WilMalone.

 

"Did It Again" was written in the front room of one of the Real World cottages with me playing guitar (which I genuinely am not great at hence the simpleness of it!) and I think "You're The One" was also written originally on guitar. That song has such a transition from heaven to hell then back again - I adore it.

 

So happy IP anniversary everyone and thanks to everyone that has shown it so much love over the years. So many incredible memories and still very in awe of her poetry , bravery and artistry during this time. And thanks to @keithblackhurst for his belief in the creative process.

Were these notes from the original recording? With the recent fever vinyl I so want Ip on vinyl I think that and the anti tour cd and dvd are the 2 things I want most from kylie from her previous work, I do think ip will happen but dont think the anti tour will.

Those notes have me in the head space of I wonder would kylie release a reimagined version of IP,

I think Kylie has so much love for IP as she often refers back to it via things like the above but I think it is also a reminder of probably a low point in her career - multiple delays, title change, commercial disaster, loss of record deal, media backlash etc., - I always feel that she wants to show it more love than she does, I just hope at some point IP will have it’s chance to shine through a vinyl re-issue.

It def needs it's time to shine and its clear how much love Kylie has for the album. There was a stage when I realky thought we would get it this year.

I almost had myself convinced I would have a Impossible Princess vinyl this year.

I’m hoping their will several variants available including a standard version - they know there is demand there for this release so hopefully they really go for it.

They really should go for it, as you said and I fully agree there is demand for this vinyl and prob the most from all her albums that got released on vinyl format.

Maybe if they release enough vinyl, the album could achieve a new peak. :P

The dutch website have updated their webpage for ‘Impossible Princess’

 

preorder is temporarily closed, we are going to consult with the label to make sure that we actually receive all copies that we have ordered. More news in this place on Friday

 

Clearly being the first to list the album has crated a surge of orders :lol: Bodes well for the album selling decently as it’s clearly what the fans have been waiting for.

I would love that to happen and i would fully support it, pitty its not released slightly earlier when it might be easier to chart higher, but either way we should see the album make a return to the chart and nab those extra sales, i hope Kylie plugs it aswell, its an album that means alot to her so i would love to see her fully get behind this release.

I wouldn't mind her next album going down the IP/indie route again!
