It was great to see her win back fans again and that video/hotpants really did the job that was needed and grabbed the presses attention which worked in her favour.

It was remarkable and hugely successful come back and for many very unexpected.

For me Kylie and Take That really hit the nail with comebacks but both in very different circumstances.

The moment (was it mark Goodier?) announcing SA was the UK no1 and they quickly interviewed Kylie! I’ll never forget. To me, more than the song itself, it was the context.

That number 1 really was something else, i remember been nervous all week incase she didnt hold on but i also remember when the first mids were released and that she was number 1 i was in such shock as i wanst expecting it as Girl Thing were widely predicted to go number 1 that week.

Even a top 10 would have been amazing, I don’t think even Kylie fans expected it to be no1. And the record too “2nd female after Madonna to have a no1 in 3 straight decades”.

From what i remember i dont think the fans were expecting number 1 at all which made it even better, i really wish light years had managed number 1 though, i love the album and it did well but a number 1 album would have been the icing on the cake. At least it finally got her, her first Aussie number 1 album. 25 years on i still remain highly disappointed with its number 13 peak here in Ireland.

Definitely one of the defining moments of her career.

Yesterday marked 25 years since the release of "Light Years". What an album it is!

25 years of greatness, happy 25th birthday Light Years.

Happy days, I remember buying it in the big WHSmith in Manchester.

A moderate commercial success but it paved the way for a sold out OANLT tour and then the mega Fever era. I loved that it achieved a new lease of life on the album chart in 2002 too. Shame it’s not near 2 x platinum as it deserves it.

Pop perfection - it also seems that the feverish rumours of a 25th re-issue were just that!

For an album with such iconic hits and such presence at the time, I cannot believe it isn't 2x Platinum! It deserves it so much, such a wonderful pop album.

This - but like with so much of Kylie’s back catalogue they’ve done very little with it to help it gain some extra sales or keep it in people’s consciousness.

It does deserve more sales but it was a great turn around in sales for her based on her previous releases but i do agree there has been very little done to help most of her catalogue gain sales.
