This song still reminds me of Jamie Oliver. It was on an advert for Sainsbury's I think, when he was their spokesperson?
I feel like we don't get a choice if this is a hit or not! It's been all over Instagram/Tik Tok ads for a couple months already, Spotfiy apparently too. I even heard it twice on Heart in the same day! I presume this means Capital will end up supporting it too. I don't quite get it as the original is still very popular and this cover doesn't really add much other than bringing a 2020 sound to it?

Funny you should say it's a '2020 sound' considering this version actually dates back to 2018, just only being promoted now for some reason :P (it could easily have come out in like 2014, tropical house's sound stagnated extremely quickly)

Jubel will be this year's Sam Feldt in scoring an extremely unexpected second UK hit a long time after their first.

Are you getting confused with 'Jubel' by Klingande? this is Jubël's first hit

Funnily enough, even the “original” by King Harvest was a cover
Funnily Klingande released a tropical house semi-cover of 'Pumped Up Kicks' (called 'Pumped Up') in 2017, and it has 129 million Spotify plays; if this can randomly become a hit now, perhaps 'Pumped Up' could too :P
Whoops :kink:

I made the same mistake! :kink: I could remember the song in my head and was thinking how could they go from something great like that to this.

There have been some dire dance covers in recent years but this is potentially the worst? I'm not a massive fan of the Toploader version either, which people are so keen to hear on every single night out and look at you expecting to love it as much as they do.

It looks like general British public disagree with you. :D

It is climbing faster than ever on Apple Music. It is now at #132 there and I think it has climbed some impressive 200 places in just 2 or 3 days.

I’m a fan of the Toploader version but this is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. They’ve taken a good song and sucked its soul out completely.

^thats the rule, thats what they do with these useless dance covers

I seriously think there should be a law, and those shouldn't be allowed :D

I'm leaning towards thinking this is the worst yet example of these dance remakes as well and that's no easy feat as the majority of them have been awful lol ~ the sooner this trend dies the better...

(actually it's not the very worst, that title goes to 'The Bender' by Matoma, but it's probably the worst that has charted)

Oh God I had forgotten about this! :drama: Well I recognised the title and artist but couldn't remember how it went or what was sampled, but I knew I hated it. Curiosity got the better of me and I've just relistened - yep, it's as awful as I thought and probably does pip this as the worst dance remake.

Gosh I can't actually get in the car with my Mum (who listens to Heart) without hearing this! How much have they paid for this to be drilled into the UK public's heads? I did think it had a bit more life to it than some other recent 'dance' covers, namely 'ily (i love you baby)' but I'm still not a fan of the original. It also sounds very manufactured and saccharine in particular.
