Good thing this is the PL where the unlikely very often happens and we not only get the win but also the clean sheet!

Im with Houdini I think most teams, especially with City, are in the mindset of damage limitation and not trying to get any result before a ball is kicked...

This performance from Norwich City against Man City considering the number of first team players who were injured has to be quite good. Blimey.

I missed the City game, but absolutely gobsmacked they dropped points- I was expecting them to have a clean run through to November.

My fantasy football team took a bit of a hammering, but I'll take that as I can't see City being beaten more than 3-4 times this season!

It was a brillant game Norwich never really tried to not play their own game and stick to their beliefs and were so dangerous going forward. Big loss Laporte for city as big as allison for us!

Buendia is a great technican!

I think Laporte is a bigger miss as he is out for 6 months. Now from what I have read Otamendi and Stones looked horrific together. Now you play yourself in to for, but sometimes central defnders are not actually that bad, it's just when they are not with someone else they make each other look horrible. Lovren for Liverpool is a great example, not a bad player by any stretch but when he was paired together with Skrtel he was awful. Don't think it will be too long until Fernandinho is playing as a CB...

Norwich must have read my post from earlier in the day! This is the kind of thing that needs to happen a lot more often, if everyone really tries to have a go at the teams at the top of the table then win percentages will not be as high as they have been in the past 2 or 3 seasons. I'm gutted that I didn't see the match live but I will watch the highlights on Match Of The Day, I had Pukki in my fantasy team but I put him on the bench because I didn't think he would score today which was obviously the wrong decision.

It's good that Man United won and ended Leicester's unbeaten start to the season whilst keeping a clean sheet, I missed this match as well so I don't know what happened during the match apart from Rashford scoring the penalty but we need to build some consistency now as there's no point winning today but then losing away to West Ham next week.

Didn't City get beat 3 teams last season? Problem was I think they only drew twice last season as far as I can recall.

I can sum the Manchester United vs Leicester game up for it.. mediocrity at its finest! Two teams capable of good things, but lacking consistency. The game was draw written all over it on the balance of play. Soft as you like penalty but defender made a terrible descison.

I don't think it is because teams don't go for it against Liverpool and City it's that we generally don't allow them to. I think you are just not enjoying the two sides dominating games each week and so try to make a reasoned excuse why it is happening!!

They actually lost 4 games but still ended up with 32 wins which is an abnormal amount of wins for a champion team.

Teams have the fear factor before they step on to the pitch to face Liverpool and City and it's like they lose the match in the tunnel when the players line up. For most teams it's a case of trying not to be thrashed and they have the mentality of "we're not going to be judged on these kind of games at the end of the season"

It's a general observation of the league as a whole not really because I'm not enjoying those two teams winning so often. It could be Sheffield United and Burnley doing this and I would still have the same observation. It's more fun for non supporters when there are twists and turns and it's better for the league as a whole.

Disappointed with Leicester so far, they were unbelievable under Rodgers last season but has them playing within themselves against bigger sides, cramming too many central players in minimising their effectiveness. Barnes has to be playing for me.

I can't speak for City as I don't watch their games as often, but I can probably count on one hand over the past year where I could see a team was already beaten before they played Liverpool. I enjoy it when City get beat of course. It's just swings and roundabouts isn't it, I can remember countless times, especially when the Man Utd old boys clubs were the managers, where they should not even turn up and play at Old Trafford.

Suspect both City and Liverpool will drop points this season a fair amount.

Hope you didn’t put too much money on Vardy scoring yesterday Roo!!

Meh it was a bet, win some you lose some :D Rodgers did at Old Trafford yesterday what he did many times before at Liverpool.. shit his pants!

It really shows how awful Stones & Otamendi are as a partnership cos on paper that's the biggest shock in the Prem in what, 10 years at least? Norwich without 8 first-team players beating statistically the best PL side ever. Amazed they didn't sign someone to replace Kompany but as we all know this could just a one-off result. Fantastic for the league though & I laugh at everyone's expense who benched Pukki in their Fantasy team (I don't have him at all so no ground lost there).

It is probably a one off result and it just shows either how far City have set the bar, or the sheer lunacy of people that City are in crisis. They are not as strong without Laporte that is for sure. And I also think they miss Sane who adds a different dimension to their attack. The big thing yesterday was the quality of chances that City gave up (and I suspect they will continue to give up as I don't think Otamendi and Stones as a partnership is going to work, both need a calming influence besides them).

I'm sure I read Guardiola didn't sign a replacement as he wants to promote Garcia as the 4th choice CB. Who coincidentally wasn't even on the bench today, so either he is talking truth or chatting bull ready for him to go out and buy a £60m CB in January!

Same old Arsenal! I can't understand why a lot of people are so confident about them making the top 4. They will only make it if Man United, Chelsea & Leicester allow them to do so.

Because they have the best attack out of those 4 teams. Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea will all have games where they look the part and games when they are absolutely shite. It's inconsistency which is to be expected. All of them are weak defensively, but Arsenal have the strongest attack imo.

I can't see Leicester making top 4 personally.
