I actually think Ole is working miracles to drag that heap of shite to even competing for top 6... I saw a comment earlier that player for player, Burnley fielded a better team than us tonight and I find it hard to argue against that  entire back 4 and midfield I'd take their over ours right now!!!

Gonna be at least 10 maybe 20 years before I can even dream of the title but that's the way football is. It's always been cyclical, I had my best years a fan as a kid now all my Pool mates are having it in their 20s. Swings & roundabouts!

Klopp turned us around in 3-4 years so it can be done very easily. But just don't even think the signings you made in the summer are good enough for the top level to be first choice. I agree it's totally swings and roundabouts, Man Utd's day will come round again I'm sure of it. Ole is part of the problem, he's massively old school in his way of thinking. Just so many average-poor players that just lack consistency. I was here for about 10 years as a Liverpool fan!

West Ham's next four games, both Liverpool, Brighton a relegation battle and Man City. They'll still be in the mire I reckon.

Or it was a game between a team who's manager getting his players playing to their best of their ability to execute a well devised plan, and one team where everything there is the complete opposite.

The only comfort with the situation surrounding Manchester United is knowing that just like everything that has a beginning the end will come eventually so it's a case of sticking with the team during these times and to be honest it could still be a lot worse. Non-league teams go through far worse than United so we can't be too melodramatic but we are average in every department at the moment and I still don't think Ole is the main problem. I have a feeling that losing to Burnley at home in the manner that we did might be one setback to far for him as manager though so I wont be surprised if he gets sacked tomorrow.

The problem must be rooted to the board because we've gone through multiple managers in the past 6-7 years but haven't really progressed in that time which shows that it's not simply a case of sacking the manager and then everything else will fall into place. We need a completely new squad to have a chance of competing for trophies.

Without a doubt the root cause of the problem is the Glazers. But when they are making money they're hardly gonna sell up. That's what happens when you have businessmen for owners, but you can't say they have not invested in the club because they certainly have. Woodward is clearly good at the commerical side, but less good at the football side. We had a very similar problem at Liverpool until we changed the structure up. Ian Ayre was fantastic at the commerical side, but as a chief executive he made a lot of mistakes, probably very similar to Woodward. It's funny as I'm sure Man Utd have recently got a couple of PR/journos on to their payroll to boost Woodward's image...

Exactly there's no given right to win trophies imagine supporting even a club lower in he Premiership who never win anything and with the wrong manager choice could fall to league one or worse(Sunderland). I think with a better manager/coach the players would do much better also.

It just keeps rumbling on....bet we get beat by Norwich away now!!

Norwich have no chance of beating you, it's actually hard to see anyone Liverpool in the league this season. Liverpool won't drop any points to teams outside the traditional big six so the record for most wins in a season will be yours.

Another record which has surprisingly not been mentioned is that Liverpool are on course to score in every match which only Arsenal have done before.

Yep the only game Liverpool have any chance whatsoever of being beaten in will be City away* (once again). Even then, they'll have to bring their A game but they do at least have Laporte back now for their sake.

City's 100+ points record in a season certainly won't last very long. Unfathomable Jeff!

*Although having said that when the league is wrapped up with 7 games to go they'll be focusing on the CL so I guess there is a chance of a slip up but I feel like Klopp is the kinda guy who would want to go gung-ho for the record? IDK.

I can see why people would think that but football is difficult and every game can spring a surprise, for example Norwich beating city at Carrow Road - anything can happen so I don't think it's as simplistic as saying City away is the only hard game because they are at our level. It was this time last year we drew at home to Leicester, away to West Ham, Everton and United.

We also still have Everton and Arsenal away too.

Albeit I would like to see us go unbeaten rather than win the champions league tbh, a gold trophy would look nice in the cabinet.

You'd think they were in the relegation zone!

Good win for Liverpool tonight, 19 points clear!!

Good win for liverpoo today, they didn't play well in the first half though, I've a feeling they will get beat or draw soon.

This really is turning into a farmer's league! Imagine things being officially over on the 21st March, that's the reality of the situation now in 2020.

West Ham are looking like they're heading for relegation this season. I guess that would be one dead weight removed.

It's one season Houdini this time next year Liverpool could fall away and be slightly off - swings and roundabouts.

I doubt it. Liverpool will win it again next season, it's gonna take major changes in almost every squad in the league to prevent this kind of dominance from happening again.
