Norwich played well at times during the match and had so many chances that they wasted but their approach made it easy for Liverpool to score 4 against them. I had Norwich as one of the teams to get relegated but they could pick up victories against mid table teams if they are not so vulnerable in defence like they were tonight. I did find it funny when Martin Tyler and Jamie Carragher said that "Norwich won the 2nd half" Martin Tyler also said something along the lines of Norwich's fans being entertained as all of the goals in the match were scored at the end where they were sitting. I guess the 4 goals Liverpool scored must have brightened up their night as well then

The Sky Sports coverage was complete cosh, Norwich could have have easily conceded 10 times today. They were awful at the back and Liverpool ran out of gas after 60 minutes. I think they will cause the big teams problems, but they did look fairly toothless in front of goal. I mean you'd think Norwich had won the game judging by how much praise was been given to them after the game just for scoring a goal.

Agree with dobbo that there will be an upset. Think City will win comfortably though and so will Spurs, but they will make hard work of it. Think the upset could be Sheffield Utd or Brighton winning though which most of the bookies have down as home bankers.

Norwich were nieve but they stuck to their guns.

After a 4-1 win you'd think I'd be happy but there was plenty to work on there. Our midfield and defensive structure wasn't as stable as last season and that'll be shown up against better teams for me. Hope they sort that out and hope Allison is back in a few weeks.

Said at the time of his appointment, Graham Potter is an amazing coach and a much better fit for getting the best out of their squad. Brilliant result for them, hope it can continue - thought they'd be absolutely fine. Really worry for Palace this year.

Manchester City starting as they mean to go along by boring almost everyone with their ruthless consistency, you can always bank on them to score at least 4 goals away to West Ham. Like I said a few days ago the main entertainment for the season will be what happens towards the bottom of the table which is what makes Brighton's and Sheffield United's results even more fascinating. Watford look like they are still affected by the FA Cup final defeat having conceded 3 goals at home to relegation favourites Brighton and Sheffield United's draw with the late equaliser from Billy Sharp is a really good foundation for them to begin their season on.
In a Champions League place :yahoo:

Long may it continue :P

Another heavy defeat for West Ham against Man City at home.

The VAR was shite!

Plenty of positives for Aston Villa to take from today...

With Grealish, Mings and Heaton, they could have 3 players in England’s Euros squad next summer.

Yeh I'm interested to see how Mings does in the Premiership this season, he was the championships version of Virgil Van Djk last year!
And Gary Lineker managed to get Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United on tonight's Match of the Day.

I'd be surprised if any one them made the squad. Just well stocked in all the areas right now.

Thought the VAR in the Man City-West Ham game was so strange. Not sure why the penalty got re-taken when players from both sides went in to the box early? Probably in the rules somewhere but found it bizarre all the same. City looked really good, but West Ham did cause them a few problems before they completely folded.

From the weekend my one takeaway is that Liverpool and City are still streets above everyone else.

I read it was because Rice himself cleared the ball so the encroachment was a determining factor. Pretty sure there's no consistency on it though, same with the keeper staying on the line rule.

I can understand if that's the case, but I agree it's going to be about the consistency. The keeper with one foot on the line seems a terrible move, I read it's meant to give an advantage to the keeper, but not sure how. Totally agree that's going to lead to saved penalties being re-taken at some point.

Liverpool and City might be far ahead of everyone else but just like last season and every other season in the history of English football only ONE team is going to win the league. I don't get why people make such a big deal of two teams being far ahead of the rest when there will be only one champion. The aim is to be the standalone team at the top of the table. You don't get a trophy for finishing 2nd and winning the Champions League is separate from this.

I see where you are going with that point Houdini but I think they always talk about levels in football and they we just saying Liverpool and city are at one level and Spurs at the in between level and then Arsenal/United/Chelsea next, everybody knows only one team can win the league just like last year City did despite Liverpool doing so well.

It just seems like Liverpool are portrayed as sidekicks to Manchester City and are content with being on the same level but not better than them. You never hear Liverpool being mentioned without the word " and" in the same sentence.
People can only look to history at this stage of the season and they were both the best teams last season albeit with City one point better over 38 games.
