Oops is a classic, Britney deserved every bit of success that song gave her! :wub: The perfect follow up to her debut era, iconic video/looks... she didn't put a foot wrong.

 

Stronger is incredible and I slightly prefer it! I'll always find it annoying that this song was her first to miss the UK Top 5. Such a powerful song - it's completely of its time, and yet it holds up so well even after 20 years.

 

I like the slight R&B vibes of Don't Go Knockin' on My Door! Not a missed single opportunity, but definitely one of my faves on the album. I love the cute spoken interlude between this and the next song!

 

(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - well at the time of release I had no idea it was a cover version! :lol: It's a very punchy song, I think she definitely made it her own. I'm glad that her label didn't seem to think this was worth making a single though, like they later would with I Love Rock 'N' Roll.

'Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know' is a bit of a snoozer oops! I was exposed to it quite a lot when growing up due to its inclusion on Now 49 (which also contains my fave song of all time - 'Another Chance') - so it's had plenty of chances but I've never warmed to it. A bit of a random single choice.

I feel like this does the whole ballad thing better than 'From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart' and the production is definitely a lot more interesting! However, this is NOT the best ballad on the album! :cheeseblock:

I don't dislike DLMBTLTK (that acronym :lol:) but it feels quite inessential to me, at least in the context of her singles discography. It's sounding nice within the album but I wouldn't have picked it to be a single!

Also, you can HEAR the Shania influence in this! I believe she wrote it?

Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know is soooooo underrated! :(

 

It's really beautiful! I love the Shania vibes (it was written by her and Mutt Lange). Whether it was the right choice to be 4th single from a commercial point of view is debatable considering it didn't set the charts on fire (but did okay~), but personally I'm glad it was.

 

There's an ad-lib during the second chorus that I really love. :wub:

 

Also the video is really quite something! 13 year old me was so confused about whether I was fancying Britney or her male extra :kink:

"Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know" remains to be one of Britney's best ballads to date in my opinion and the music video was a good introduction to ditch that innocent persona (The music video of "I'm A Slave 4 U" really did that though) to be honest. Also, the Hex Hector remix of the song is good too.
