We're about 10 votes away with 16 and a half hours left, from getting to our average amount of voters per round!

Can we do it?

Can I just say, we appreciate those that don't have their forums in the contest anymore, continuing to support and vote no matter what  Truly appreciated!

Pure dross this round. The Britney and Mel C songs I remember thinking were ok but I've not heard them in years and they have aged terribly

I’d say that pretty much every song included are of their time and don’t sound like what’s going on in music right now... but that’s the beauty of them! Personally I’ve never really understood the “aged terribly” feeling, because I don’t need music to fit in with the late 2010s/2020 to be able to get enjoyment out of them. Like, Me Against the Music is so 2003 but that’s a part of its charm. There’s nothing like it these days.

I'd agree that most of the old(er) songs in these 11 rounds have sounded of their time and wouldn't fit into more recent sounds, but some I think sound far better now than others. It's not that I find they've aged badly compared to recent songs, but I felt they now sound a lot worse than similar songs of the same era that I liked about as much as them. I can't say I liked the Dannii song any more than those two and I'd suggest that also sounds of its time, but I thought that was of a lot better today after not hearing any of them for probably a decade.

1. Lady Gaga feat. Beyoncé - Telephone

2. Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland - 4 Minutes

3. Riva feat. Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now? (Stringer)

4. Little Mix feat. Stormzy - Power

5. Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name?

6. Melanie C feat. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes - Never Be The Same Again

7. Katy Perry feat. Juicy J - Dark Horse

8. Britney Spears feat. Madonna - Me Against The Music

9. Taylor Swift feat. Kendrick Lamar - Bad Blood

Quality list! I like all of them (though 'Bad Blood' less so than at the time). Sorry to Mel C who I'd have really liked to fit in too.

I, at this stage, don't have the same 5 votes as anyone, but if my #5/#6 had been the other way around, I would've had the same votes as Liam.k for a 2nd round in a row :o

Also I'd forgotten this is a double elimination, gonna be brutal :drama:

Britney Spears - Me Against The Music (feat. Madonna)

Katy Perry - Dark Horse (feat. Juicy J)

Lady Gaga - Telephone (feat. Beyoncé)

Melanie C - Never Be The Same Again (feat. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes)

going into this I thought Never Be The Same Again would be a certainty for a vote but it didn’t sound as good as I remembered :(

How come Madonna forum changed which version of 4 Minutes to enter?

He requested it earlier/before the thread went live, but I got distracted and didn't change it. Apart from the intro/outro I can't hear a difference anyway personally, but I'm rubbish at spotting the minor differences at the best of times  (Unless I've been hammering the song etc..)

But it was only fair for me to make an announcement.

Madonna's votes grew massively since that announcement, so maybe it worked? Idk.

There isn't really any difference, it's just there's a longer intro on the album version. I don't think it would actually alter people's view on the song.
like if people listened to the songs :D
Currently at 69 Votes. Can we reach 74/75 in 2 hours? Gonna be tiiiiight.

I would like to think people were listening to them (for rounds with huge singles I understand why they wouldn't - but I'd still recommend it).

Honestly, just about EVERY round, my order has changed from what I was expecting it to upon re-listens (I listen about 3 times (more if needed) before confirming my votes). It's crazy how I've thought "oh so & so will be safe", but then a song I undervalued/under appreciated took over in my listens of it...

Obviously the more album tracks/unknown track rounds, I've had a couple of really nice discoveries!

So basically, I recommend the playlist. Even if you think you know the songs enough already.
