I remember The Hook Up was one of my ultimate faves when the album was new. Like I probably listened to it more than Toxic pre-Toxic being a single, lol! It's such a bop. The title as far as I'm concerned has a double meaning, because this song is full of hooks!

Will have to give the lyrics to a few of these another listens to unlock their magic, but this is such a strong album! Not a single dud song so far, it's also quite out-there for a 2004 pop star imo.

The ending with the strings! Is GORGEOUS

The Hook Up is fun! Perhaps my least favourite so far but by no means bad.

The lewdness on this bus is ASTRONOMICAL.

Shadow is one of her strongest ballads - it's what came to mind for me to send for AF Idol, in the ballad album track round! The production is interesting and fits well with the album, and I love the light and shade of the verses vs. properly belting the chorus.

I really have a soft spot towards "Shadow" and I think it's one of her non-singles ballad. It's very haunting. I remember there were rumours that Britney recorded a Spanish version of the song and I was like... no way. I need that.
