she sure can be #1 on iTunes

it might be already be #1 as we speak, but Kworb has gone crazy

Isn’t Kylie past her sell by date to be even with a chance of rallying for a number one anywhere? Lol.

She could be no.1 on sales only charts, thus proving she’s still within sell by date.

Though I do long for the days when an older artist could still perform well. Kylie is the same age Cher was when she had her biggest hit.

2+15. Kylie Minogue - Say Something

The most reliable source from ATRL heard the album and he said...

"Unfortunately, it's a folk acoustic album, the whole album. The piano is nice though. "

So I'm sure it's gonna flop hard but IM SO HERE FOR THAT MUSIC.

Kylie’s crashed Kworb

‘Say Something’ is a bit meh though on first listen.

Don't be a cockwomble.

Haha whatever you say!

This is a forum where we’re entitled to opinions... in hindsight maybe I should have worded it better but I’m surprised Kylie is even challenging for a number one on iTunes when I would have guessed an artist of her calibre is meant to be on a downward trajectory.

People need to stop obsessing over artists- Kylie doesn’t know any of us. Chill.

Of course you're free to comment, but your comment is kinda ignorant

but a #1 on iTunes, everybody can get that, it takes 500 sales

a #1 on Spotify, that's more difficult cos you need 500,000 streams, she doesn't have so many fans but 500 fans sure she has...

also if you follow the charts, Golden and Step Back in Time did incredibly in sales doing week 1 suggesting a massive and devoted fanbase,

more devoted than ever... especially that Step Back in Time Best Of, which was like her 5th Best Of and still sold 32K on week 1 including 6K vinyls

does it sound like an artist in a downward trajectory

Sure you can express an opinion. Just get ready for people to express opinions on yours, as per discussion.

No one really thinks Kylie has a shot at no.1 but at least you’ve acknowledged your poor choice of wording. If anything gets my goat it’s people being dismissive of artists because of age.

With artists like Kylie, the album will always do well especially in week 1, Golden had a brilliant chart run and sold about 150k and Step Back In Time is the type of album that will sell in low numbers for a long time, it did far better than i thought it would with her having the million selling ultimate kylie and other greatest hits aswell that sold well. As for singles, getting a top 40 is like a number 1 for artists such as Kylie, the days of big hits are over but when you have had as many hits as kylie it isnt really a worry.

I didn’t know Kylie sold that much and was a consistent seller?

I’m only 19 so just assume older artists like Kylie will find it harder to do well in this music climate.

This point exactly. Dancing going top 40 was a big achievement for Kylie in the streaming age and something big artists that started 10-15 years later than Kylie struggle to achieve. Madonna couldn't even go top 75 with the lead from her last album, so I will be happy happy if Say Something can even go top 75 considering how much more dominant streaming is year on year.

Surprised History has become such a popular song for 1D now. Didn't think much of it at the time and far from their best. Looks like it will be their Never Forget.

Curious to see how Taylor impacts itunes tomorrow. Not looking to be her standard pop record and not lead by any hyped up singles.

Any thoughts on how Cardigan will do (of any of the album tracks from Folklore for that matter)?

Apparently the album is not commercial sounding so will be interesting to see how it and it’s tracks do... (source:ATRL)

Its interesting that younger users on the site dont for example know of the huge career of Kylie and other artists like her.

I'm sure it will do bad, it sounds like an winter album and the UK loves dance music more than anything so it will do very bad.
