Well I think we're going to finish about 10th at this rate  Absolutely dreadful, some serious bad luck with the injuries this year but there's also something going on behind the scenes surely, the body language across everyone is totally wrong.

Depressing watching them, every game the same. No width no skill no luck no real desire.

Best thing that could have happened in the Manchester derby was that early goal for United

I didn’t have Shaw scores and United get 65 mins in to the Derby without conceding on my bingo card for March
United been excellent today, maybe preparing for a title tilt next season?

They're still miles away. This is a good result and they've played really well but you run this game over 10 times and City win this 6 or 7 and the other 2 are draws. When United can play on the counter attack they look great, it was really similar to Liverpool under Klopp up until about the summer of 2018 where we morped to be more possession based. You'll get good results and beat the top teams but this still the same Man Utd side that completely self-destructed their own title challenge in January.

Make or break next year for Ole, prob fire a few more millions at the squad in the summer too.

United need to learn to play higher up the pitch like today!

Glad we ended City's winning streak and kept our own unbeaten away steak today, the damage has already been done for trying to overtake them in the table but it's still good regardless to beat them. Luke Shaw was man of the match for me.

Yeh Shaw was excellent, been much improved this year overall!

Yeah agreed Shaw has been excellent when I've seen him this year. He looks much fitter. I think he is one of the players who has really beneffited from the lack of crowds, so it will be interesting to see if he carries in the form to next season. Certainly we know he has it in his locker to be a great player again.

Some actual goals for Man United against a Top 6 club. Fantastic to see Man United beat Man City.
Liverpool a shadow of how they were last season. Just no desire or inspiration at the moment.
Who was it saying just a couple of weeks ago that Bale will probably quietly see out the season before moving on elsewhere?

We lack intensity, our defence is shocking and our midfield don't press. I think some of the intensity is due to the lack of atmosphere, we play games at a pre-season pace. But most of all we are just predictable. Klopp got some things wrong, but this rut is a by-product of our injuries and I don't think that can be over-estimated. We haven't had a settled side all season, had bereavement, poor form, key leadership personel out. This probably drains morale and then there's no crowd so everything falls completely flat. You don't even have to be particularly good to get good chances against us either, the opposition smell blood and play on our vulnerabilities  I'm knackered with everything, so no doubt the players and the manager are too. I think things will get worse before they get better still but I keep telling myself lockdown football isn't real football.

You ain't even finishing top half at this rate this season. It's hilarious just hearing what excuses Liverpool fans come up with week after week, they are getting more creative! Especially the no crowd excuse like they're the only team who hasn't had fans this season. You've just burned out which is exactly what happened at Dortmund under Klopp. That XI he fielded yesterday was such an insult to Fulham too!

SUPER happy at that result yesterday, now all the City fans can shut up about their incredible winning streak :cheer: it's amazing how many times we've had their number the past few seasons. They were awful yesterday, we couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo in the past 3 games neither!

The crowd thing is massive though, just look at our results last season. We didn't blitz teams 4 or 5 nil, we won quite a lot of games in the last few minutes of the match. The problem with the crowd comes when you are going through a difficult period. Those 2-1 wins have turned in to 0-0s and now 0-1s. Anfield just becomes another souless ground. Do we lose 6 games in a row if we have a crowd there? No chance. Of course there are other problems too, one is mental and physical fatigue, but it's not as simple as saying we are burned out. The defence aside, the team Klopp put out yesterday wasn't even that bad. We have no defenders!!!

The no crowd is f***ing hilarious considering Liverpool are one of the ONLY prem clubs that have actually been allowed a crowd at a match this season.

It’s pathetic

Yeah but a lot of teams have had bad runs this season, look at our first 7/8 games! It's a very easy excuse to blame the lack of crowds but eventually it comes down to the player's mentality. A few surprise defeats here and there yes but 6 in a row?? Come on, the team are just rolling over now. I think it's clear they've binned off the league and are focusing on the Champions League which on balance makes sense but it's a risky strategy!

Your defence is crap atm yes but that doesn't excuse the attacking players not turning up. Mane & Firmino in particular have been awful this season.

And notice when our last home win was, yep that's right - a 90th minute winner against Spurs in December. Since then we have been shocking at home. So exactly the point I was making.

I disagree it's a mentality, you don't go from winning the League and Champions League to being absolute dogs dinner. I think there is some form of the players not knowing how to react as for 5 years we have had constant praise, but like I said when you're in a rut how do you get yourself out of it? The crowd. Part of it is tactics as our attacking patterns are just so predictable, but it's not like we're not creating chances we're just not burying them which is a confidence problem. I do think a lot of these problems can be solved on the training field.

You’ve missed my point entirely. You’re only of the only clubs who’ve had crowds and so complaining about how not having them is impacting you is f***ing pathetic. As if you’re the only one playing behind closed doors. It’s been 12 months since *insert a stadium from a big 5 league here* had crowds we don’t hear any other fans blame a lack of crowds on a lacklustre performance. The German teams in the CL/EL drawn against the English teams literally had to host the home game at a random stadium in Eastern Europe because Germany won’t let the English across the border with their nasty variant and STILL none of the fans are out here complaining about it and how that’s why they didn’t perform.

As ever nothing is ever Klopp or Liverpool’s fault. Always the victim eh.

I agree with everything you say here except the ‘insult to Fulham’ nonsense, Liverpool have to play champions league games this week so you have to rotate and the team was good anyway and I called for rotation with Trent and the likes.
