May 10, 20214 yr Author 4 - Lampard, Mourinho, Bilic & Wilder. But yeah must be the lowest in many many years. Probably also down to clubs not wanting to pay off their contracts with them making less money than normal. Ah yes Wilder! Completely forgot about him. Which is a mad one as Sheffield Utd have been even more terrible than before since he got the boot, I do think you are right but then I also think would Newcastle, Brighton, Palace and Fulham have sacked their manager at any stage of the season if it was not for covid? I'm not so sure. Although fan pressure does pay a part, so maybe that may have had an influence if fans could attend the games.
May 10, 20214 yr I could only see Fulham possibly doing so of those 4 teams. Ashley never sacks managers and just let's the fans suffer. Potter gets a pass for playing "attractive football" & Palace were never really in any danger. I think Arteta is the one I'm most shocked about at surviving the season! Definitely think no fans being there saved him.
May 10, 20214 yr Bruce, Arteta and Parker the only ones with any likelihood I feel, no way Tony Bloom would be sacking with Potter with their performance - I'd say he's amongst the safest in the league! I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hodgson's contract not get renewed but no way are Palace sacking him when he continually takes that squad to this type of finish. It's a big rebuild job for someone. The teams toward the bottom tend to be either doing well enough to be pleased with their performance or you can sense what they're trying to achieve - even though Southampton might finish 17th, weirdly it doesn't feel like they've had that bad a season because they were very good for a while and hampered by a massive injury crisis, and it is a very thin squad. Hassenhuttl has already proven to be capable of turning around performance too.
May 10, 20214 yr The job Hidgson has done at Palace has been immense considering the squad and players. Without him they would have went down that season he was appointed. Think I was shocked that some thought they would go down in the predictions thread at the start of the season.
May 10, 20214 yr Author The job Hidgson has done at Palace has been immense considering the squad and players. Without him they would have went down that season he was appointed. Think I was shocked that some thought they would go down in the predictions thread at the start of the season. He has done ok there all things considered, but it's a massive rebuild job there now. Pretty sure half their squad is out of contract and Zaha is always looking to be on his way out. They're a bit like Newcastle and Burnley in the fact that they are capable of going on long, terrible runs but can also put together a tiny bit of form too once or twice in the season to boost their points tally. Think they will really struggle next season when Hodgson goes in the summer on amicable terms.
May 10, 20214 yr Next season's relegation battle looks like it's going to be harder to predict than usual as it's more likely that not all of the newly promoted teams will go straight back down, which would mean at least one of the current roster of teams would get relegated. Leeds look like they will be an established team in this league so a second season syndrome probably wont happen which means one of the teams that have been in the league for quite long might go instead. I think it will be fascinating to see what happens there.
May 10, 20214 yr crucial game tonight Fulham Just 6 points from. Burnley who they face tonight If they win tonight then on Saturday they face Leeds at home , where they not won at home since 27th January ,Fulham them go to Southampton in a winnable game.
May 11, 20214 yr First time in PL history that all relegation places have been confirmed with 3 matches to go. I yearn for another 2011 epic!
May 11, 20214 yr By the time the last day of the season comes around there might not be anything to play for, even the top 4 might be completed before then. I suppose Man United will have the chance to go through a whole Premier League season unbeaten away if we avoid defeat at Wolves. The most points Man City can finish with is 89 if they win all remaining matches so there is no major points milestone to go after this time.
May 11, 20214 yr I knew we would lose today, there was bound to be something like this happening when we play 3 games in less than a week. So Liverpool's title reign is officially over then, it's weird because there was so much build up and hype from the media & pundits in the lead up to them winning the league and now that they have it feels like they were never the champions in the first place. Now that fans are coming back into the stadiums the chance to sing "we are the champions, champions of England", "stand up for the champions" etc... has gone
May 11, 20214 yr I'm pleased that Leicester won after that Newcastle game, didn't want to see them throw the chance of Champions League qualification away two seasons running.
May 11, 20214 yr The second the line up was out you knew we were playing to lose. You can’t put a b side and debut a couple of kids against a top 4 team and expect to win. Tbh it really could have been a lot worse than 2-1

Just like the fact we would have eclipsed 100 points if it were not for covid too, just one of those things. Congrats to City for winning the league and if it were not for Liverpool they'd have just won 4 in a row! I'd piss myself if City get beat against Newcastle on Friday. I know Utd didn't get the best luck with the fixtures, but I think they could have done a better job at managing the schedule.

If Brighton can sign somebody who can shoot straight, they should do a lot better next season. They create more chances than most teams but fail to turn enough of them into goals.

I mean if it wasn’t for him yous would basically be like Sunderland or Forest
