September 2, 20205 yr 5 Katy Perry - Smile * #5 in the US & the UK Mariah_Carey_Loving_That_Concept.gif
September 2, 20205 yr I no longer have a Music Week subscription so can't log in to access the full top 5 sales article but this is the part that can be accessed without a subscription Nines aims high with Crabs In A Bucket album The Official Charts Company Midweek Sales Flash is in and Nines is challenging Metallica and Gregory Porter at the UK albums chart summit. Harlesden rapper Nines hit the Top 5 with his previous two albums One Foot Out and Crop Circle, and is aiming to go one better with Crabs In A Bucket, which has 7,098 sales so far, with Monday’s streaming data yet to be counted. Metallica’s S&M2 is currently in pole position on 9,502 sales, followed by Gregory ... and that's it. The mention of Monday streaming sales data being missing means that it is a Tuesday update.
September 2, 20205 yr I've added all Music Week sales to the update, check out the first page to see. Only 92 copies separate Joel Corry and Cardi B! :o
September 2, 20205 yr thanks for the figures much lower than I was expecting for Disclosure and Katy, wonder if they'll reach 10K... for those with MW subscription, do you see the compilation charts too? is Club Nostalgia in there? Edited September 2, 20205 yr by Bjork
September 2, 20205 yr It doesn’t seem like there’s much missing data then as Head & Heart is up in numbers on last week’s Tuesdays mids. Wonder how it managed to overtake WAP from the first look then
September 2, 20205 yr Could it be that WAP is streamed more by people with a free account relative to H&H? Even last week, WAP should have been #1 looking at the streaming data, she had already the same lead as this week Think the same happened with The Box, his official streams were always lower than what Spotify showed
September 2, 20205 yr thanks for the figures much lower than I was expecting for Disclosure and Katy, wonder if they'll reach 10K... for those with MW subscription, do you see the compilation charts too? is Club Nostalgia in there?MW doesn't (or at least didn't) publish the midweek Compilation Albums chart and only published a top 20 end of week chart.
September 2, 20205 yr 92 sales between WAP and Head & Heart for Tuesday. It's going to be close this week.
September 2, 20205 yr Cardi caught up significantly as last week went on, I'd expect she'll do the same by the end of the week again? Free/paid ratios shouldn't be affecting anything greatly. By the end of last week, Cardi was exactly 4500 premium audio streams ahead of Joel, and 3598 free audio streams behind Joel on free streams. That'd ultimately work out with Cardi 51 sales ahead if you convert both figures into their correct ratios (with download sales obviously swinging it in Joel's favour in the end). I suppose Amazon must be making the difference right now, where Joel's ahead?
September 2, 20205 yr Happy with Katy! Especially as her last hit from this album was well over a year ago now! :D I'm hoping she can overtake Disclosure.
September 2, 20205 yr on Amazon streaming it's hard to tell cos WAP is #2 and Joel is #3 but has a second version at #21 Joel only seems to be clearly ahead on iTunes on Spotify WAP is miles ahead now, >100K, which is a lot in terms of streams
September 2, 20205 yr Does Katy have a chance to go #3 at best? She's higher than Disclosure in every platform (iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon) so I feel like she will end up #4. Edited September 2, 20205 yr by Ridge

September 2, 20205 yr I'm surprised and confused at where Discloure's sales are coming from tbh, they're lower on every platform than they seem.
September 2, 20205 yr Also Cardi is ahead on premium, free and video streams, it's the small difference in downloads that is pushing Joel so close. Upweighted streaming will work in her favour anyway.
September 2, 20205 yr I'm surprised and confused at where Discloure's sales are coming from tbh, they're lower on every platform than they seem. Perhaps in-store like HMV or else their website?
