If you're talking about Sports Team, I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm

Of course they're joking lmao

Phew. You never know who 20 year olds know or don't know these days~

But Perfect wasn’t released as a single until the 26th September so not for another 2 weeks
If the date that matters is when the track received a manual reset then this was done 3 years ago this week. The track re-entered the top 100 on the chart dated Friday 15 September 2017 so the manual reset will have taken effect from 8 September 2017.

Goats Head Soup now reduced to £4.99 on iTunes, but deluxe version is still £19.99. Stones up to no. 2.

Rather late in the day.

Right that make sense then. If that is the case and what has actually happened, that’s much better than the OCC just deciding to put it onto ACR.

It still doesn't really make sense though - if a manual reset also reset the 3 year rule then why would other recent cases of songs given resets despite being over 3 years old still go back to ACR before reaching 10 weeks in the chart? (Melanie Martinez / BANNERS / that one other boring ballad that I've already forgotten entirely)

Also 'Perfect' did indeed re-enter this week 3 years ago but it looks like the actual reset didn't occur until 2 weeks later? (Unless it got an entirely natural 79-34 surge but I'm fairly sure I remember that being because of the reset)

At first I was quite surprised to see Looking for Me and Midnight Sky going Top 10 when neither are really anything special but the chart is kinda like that all around isn't it?

I think they're both fantastic!

Just checked and the week it climbed 79-34, it also made a similar climb of 81-42 on the audio streaming chart (45-39 on sales but those were fairly insignificant even then, and video streams didn't count).

So it seems it was already on SCR and the reset did take effect on 8 Sept 2017 (the start of the week leading to it re-entering at #77). I guess that might also explain why it was on SCR in the Monday mids (7 Sept) but not in the days after that.

But yes I agree it's inconsistent with recent manual resets. (Natalie Taylor - Surrender was the other song :P )

good to get a semi-logical explanation and that it wasn't a dictatorial decision

I'm fairly certain it was actually reset to SCR the very day it re-entered the top 40 - I distinctly remember not having prepped it for the chart show thread because it wasn't anywhere close in the midweeks.

In fact, I just checked back - defo not on SCR until that week it re-entered the top 40.

Well in that case who knows... maybe they'll realise and return Perfect to SCR for another 2 weeks... if it appears at #40 today, that'll be why

3 years ago precisely Perfect re-entered the top 100, guess thats what they count

they ignore the early stint as album track
