Does anyone despise how Capital cuts the second verse on most of their songs as the song ages?? They absolutely butchered Break Up Song as well.

Kiss is where it’s at lol.

YES! They kept doing cutting the bridge of 'Rain On Me' as well... and then people wonder why artists are inclined to release 2 minute songs (on top of the streaming aspect).

The longevity of this song is incredible! 12 weeks and counting wow - and 10 of those weeks within the Top 10!

What are the longest songs to chart in the top 5 and 10 by a girl group in the UK?

I remember reading that All Saints had 15 weeks in the top 10 with Never Ever (still a great song!) with 13 of those weeks being in the top 5! Is this the longest?

I think they'll combine Male + Female to just Best Solo Artist tbh, there were discussions about it last year from the Brits

Well most female artists can kiss goodbye to a Brit then unless you’re Adele.

I believe Never Ever holds that record for both?

Top 5 for 13 weeks, top 10 for 15 weeks.

Wannabe was top 10 for 12 weeks with 10 weeks in the top 5.

Then it's Shout Out to My Ex with 11, Touch & Sweet Melody with 10 weeks in the top 10. Touch spent 7 weeks top 5 which is their longest, if Sweet Melody can get another top 5 week next week it'll be their longest top 5 single and third overall for any girl group. Girls Aloud and Sugababes only managed about 6 weeks top 5 w/Sound of the Underground & Push the Button I think?

It's crazy that for Little Mix, it's not even their biggest hit that's setting the record.

Dua is definitely getting that this year, I think she's the only solo British act who actually deserves it? Possibly Stormzy too.

Harry Styles deserves a Brit too this year, more than Stormzy.

Gender neutral categories are a moronic idea and just means there's less awards to give out and less chance of deserving females winning anything.

oop, forgot about Harry- I always seem to think he's American? (possibly bc he has more success there?)

Exactly.

It's crazy to see how big this still is! So very well deserved though, definitely up their with their best. I know I sound like a broken record, as I have said it here before, but it's a damn shame this has not been a worldwide smash. Spotify should have put them on some big pop playlsist and I am sure it would have taken of everywhere. But who knows, maybe without Jesy leaving, they would have done some more international promo as well (as that has never been easier and cheaper this year).

Don’t Cha was top 5 for 7 weeks I believe.

Right? It’s a shame it hasn’t smashed internationally, but I’m still super pleased at the success with SM

Wasn't Harry nominated last year? (Honestly the timelines & the process into how they're eligible confuses me aha)

To be eligible you would have had to release an album in the eligibility period which is usually just the specific year. So both Harry and Stormzy can't be nominated this time.

However, I think the Brits are changing the eligibility period but who knows what too.
