Yeah I can't believe it's as low as 40 on Today's Hits on Apple!

It really needs to pick up on Apple...

 

I’m confident it will debut top 10 but Apple could let it down if it doesn’t manage better playlist support.

Its not good for the debut week position as it could hinder it but maybe their team is waiting to give it a bigger push there on Nov 6 along with A list on Radio 1. Im thinking every time the playlists update it will gradually rise ready for a big push in two weeks? Its the only thing i can think of, #40 is quite low on Todays Hits!

The fact that it’s #48 on AM is quite good IMO. I think it’ll grow massively over the next few days and during release week I think it’ll have a huge push. Considering they’ve bombarded us with songs over the last 3 weeks I think it’s natural that SM wouldn’t instantly take off. The insane reception and music video acclaim and the fact it’s gonna debut with roughly 3.5-5m views is an inclination it’ll have good longevity and a decent run.

The normal single will start falling v soon too, before stabilising and potentially reclimbing again Sunday eve/Monday (hopefully earlier if this is what they're performing on The Search) I can't see this song being performed personally, as Jade is doing everything virtually due to having to self-isolate, so they'll probably wait until she comes back. So I think it'll be an acoustic performance or something (unless they have pre recorded something).

 

There seems to be so much goodwill towards this track and video. Something I've not seen at this level since 'Glory Days' era. I just hope it can become their next full on smash (as in multi-week top 10)

Why does this happen to them?

 

Great Spotify support, then Apple literally place them SO low on all playlists (The lowest a single has ever been on A List Pop)

 

Capital FM not even played it once..

I know it's frustrating but at the end of the day if it's meant to be a hit, it'll be a hit. If Capital playlists it next week then it's fine.

No they've always done it. They did it with BUS it ended up being played from the following Tuesday.

 

I'm guessing they'll do the same with Sweet Melody...

 

I'm sure it's so they can 'fix' the big top 40! As Capital plays count towards it (They love to announce a big climber the following week).
